Hello Everyone

I am new here and I posted a bit earlier with a couple of questions in regards to the I-129f. My fiance and I are finishing up our initial packet to send in to USCIS and I had asked about a marriage certificate for legal name change to accompany my divorce decree.

2. on the G-325A form there is a section about last occupation abroad but he has only worked in Australia. What should he put there?

3. He may not be able to get his vaccination records. We have heard about a blood test. What is the name of it and can any General Practitioner give it? that way when it is time to see the panel physician he will know.

The name of the test you are referring to is called the titer test. If your fiance has had any immunizations in the past, the titer test will look for any antibodies from the immunizations.

For MMR it is cheaper to get the shots than the test. For chickenpox it is cheaper to get the test than the shot. So you should keep that in mind when deciding whether or not to get the tests. The panel physician will know which shots are needed (a lot of them are not age-appropriate and will not be needed), and can give you the shots or the tests, depending on which is cheaper. You can get them done at your GP but it will cost you about the same.

Here is a link to the schedule that I used. It is 2010 but I don't think the requirements have changed since then. The titre testing can be expensive because it's not covered by Medicare. It cost $186 and my GP had the results in 7 days. I also made sure the panel physician in Brisbane would take my GP's results before I had it done just in case they would want to do it themselves.

I needed the MMR, tetanus booster and the flu shot. The others weren't age appropriate. The MMR was free because apparently everyone is entitled to a free booster based on age, the flu shot was $20 and the tetanus was $40. I can't remember exactly which two I had together but I know that I couldn't have all 3 at the same time for some reason. Hope that helps!

If he has only worked in OZ then he does not have to worry about putting anything else in on G325. He can go to his local doc or medical centre and have a serology test done and that will tell them what he has had as a child and if he needs anything now. If he goes to med centre it is covered by medicare. Once he gets that he keeps it for his medical once you are approved.

So was I when I was a kid and I knew the child hood diseases I had but my doc who works in a med centre did a serolgy test to check and all I needed was a flu shot had tetanus done back in 2006 so thats good for 10 years.

I just took my letter fom my doc to the medical and it was enough. Med centres in NSw are all covered by medicare and some docs now are just charging $20 for a visit.

I managed to find most of the immunisation records from my childhood, and had a blood test for MMR and something else, I can't remember now since it was back in 2009. Chicken pox, I think? It was minimal cost, and I had it done in suburban Brisbane. I got all three of the HPV shots (for free since I was in the right age group) and I just had to get the Whooping Cough shot. If you work off of the sheet that Deb posted, it is pretty easy to work out. Remember that the HPV shot is no longer required! And good luck!

Edit - I took the blood test results, and copies of my childhood vaccines (got them from local councils and from my baby heath booklet) to the panel doctor and I was all good!
