36. Has Anyone Ever Filed an Immigrant Visa Petition on Your Behalf?

Yes No If Yes, Who?

I'm confused because we are applying for a K1 visa and he's planning on living here, but the forms that we're filling out all say nonimmigrant visa. Do we put yes or no? Thanks!

Well, has anyone ever filed for an immigrant visa for you before? If this is your first visa application, then no. If the only applications ever filed have been non-immigrant, then the answer is still no.

The DS-156 is the visa app, so you don't count it as having filed one before for this question (and the K visa is a dual intent, non-immigrant visa, as you say).
