I received my NOA2 in the mail and it was approved on 1-25-12 but it has not been updated online, i never got an email or text. did it not just get updated in the system? I tried calling the automated NVC # and it said its not on file there. 12 days since the form says we were approved.

sometimes it takes as long as 4 weeks for NVC to input a case into their system. USCIS not updating their site shd not worry you much since you have the NOA2 hard copy. your file hopefully left USCIS few days after they mailed out your approval notice. NVC receives it( it is physically in their office) but then it takes time for whichever dept is responsible to update the case into their systems where the phone agents access when people call. so once they dnt see ur case in their system, then they "dnt have it". Have Feb 25th in mind as your target date to help your wait easier..but keep calling NVC and cheking at least once a day and from time to time press 5 to speak a human.

GOD has been WONDERFUL!!!

The NVC automated phone system doesn't work for K-1. Press 1 for English, then 5 and you will be able to speak to an operator. Have your Receipt number (on your NOA1/2, beginning by WAC or EAC) ready, they will ask name and date of birth of the petitioner/beneficiary, verify your phone number and email address, and then you can ask them if they receive your case. If they did, ask for your case number, and also ask when is it going to be sent to the embassy. :)

Thanks, That helps! Im just so glad to have the hard copy. Ive read it about 20 times now. Checked the application number 100 times, and Im floating! Its getting closer, but still so much to do. Waiting is the hardest part.

Have you compiled your documents you need to send to your fiance? (Tax transcripts, letter from employer, 134, pay check summaries)

Has your finance obtained all the required police certificates?

These may take some time so get cracking.

Have you both looked at the Moscow Embassy website and their listing of documents and procedures for the K-1?

Have you been browsing in the RUB regional forum where there are many many nice folks who have been through all this and can really help?

The website is totally unreliable and they have had problems with it. When I sent my NOA1 in, I signed up for automated updates and got one with my NOA1 (text and email). My EAC number never appeared in the web site. NEVER. Four months later I got the NOA2 in my mail box. I never got an email or text notification on the NOA2. A week later I called the NVC and got the MNL#. With that, we scheduled the medical and then the interview (Feb 15th). About 2-3 weeks after we got the MNL#, I got the NVC letter in the mail. True story.

Remember, the web site is only a secondary reporting system that is fed from the main computers. Sometimes these secondary systems break and they don't have the staff to keep them updated. The main computers (the AS/400 IBMS systems) are the reliable ones. If you get the NOA1 paper, your I-129F is in the system. You can also call and they can tell you that. The operator will check the main system. Don't rely on the web site. I never put any weight in it.

We got the forms months ago, police certs, vaccine report, taxes getting done this week, no letter from employer since I own my own business... I may need to ask about that on the forum, bank statements, she has been more than on top of it. We downloaded the focuments and procedures from the moscow web site and have almost everything complete.

What is the RUB regional forum?

Thanks for the help
