How and Where do I go to extend my visa?

Where do I go? What is the address?

Do I have to wait until last day of 21 entry visa stamp to get an extention?

If I get an Extend now.. Does the next 38 days start from Today or the end date of my 21 day entry?

What are the hours of operation for the Dept of Imigration? What time do I need to be there to extend my visa? How long does it take to do so?

From my understanding, you need to apply for visa extension one month before the expiration; in fact, you can apply for the extension the same day you arrive in the Philippines. The 38-extension will commence when the 21-days expires. Depending on your location, you can always go to the nearest immigration office; I'm afraid am not certain in regards to their working hours.

You were never a mistake. You were my realization.

You are allowed to stay in the country, “free”, for 21 days then you must either leave or extend your visa. If you choose to extend, you will be granted an additional 38 days and this will cost you 3030 pesos , about US$70.

Bureau of Immigration Main Office

Magallanes Drive, Intramuros, Manila

Business Hours: Normal business hours are from 9 to 12 am and 1 to 5 pm, Monday to Saturday.

Extensions can be applied a month in advance. Recommend you arrange your extension as far in advance as is possible. You can apply today and pick it up same day. The extension begins the day after your 21 days in the Philippines.

Trust me,

It is better to apply for the visa while you are still in the states and send your passport to the local Philippine Embassy then to deal with those people at the Philippine Immigration in Manila. I was there and i wanted to punch the lady through the glass.

They talk down to you and then over charge you because they feel that they have the power to stamp your passport or not and you are in their country.

They will bleed your wallet dry if you are not careful. You will be paying this and that fee. Express lane, stamping, everything.

You have to pay a fee to express a fee and pay for that fee. Trust me, you will see it in their website. It is crazy! They will take advantage because they know foreigners want to stay. The only way to get around that is if you know a few people and they can help you get your passport stamp. Philippines is very dirty when it comes to the government so pay the right fee and you can get anything waived.

Just look at the fees and the time tables. I had to get hit hard with fees just because i stayed 5 more days over the 38 days extension, they will not waive it. If you stay over the 38 days, and even if you stay one day over, you have to pay for the next extension at full price, just be careful.

Oh, and also you have to pay for a I-ARC card if you do not have one and that is another 50 dollars I think. It is only good for one year, cheaper to renew if you have it, if not, you have to keep buying new ones each time you stay over. Per year.

Well I would say it is easier and cheaper in the Philippines.. Dirty government is everywhere.. *cough* USA!
