Hi to everyone,

I need some advice. I need suits for my future job (EAD!). So hubbie and I went to our shopping mall and tried everything: Macy's, Dillard's, Belk, Express, Ann Taylor, Jones New York. Apart from the extreme prices I couldn't find anything. I need a size 2 and they only offered that as 2P, which is way too short for me.

Where do you guys get your suits? I am willing to spend a big amount, but reasonable (no Dolce or Chanel ;) ). It's so frustrating! Or do you know if a taylor could sew a 4 into a size 2?

I tried to google it, but Google came up with the stores I already went to...

Thank you so much for your help, I appreciate it!

Anna

If you're short, go to a petites store. :star:

If you're tall...just keep looking. I'm not a size 2 so I can't help you.

Hm haven't checked Neiman Marcus yet. The only thing people at Macy's told me they could order some suits in my size, but those suits are about 500 bucks. That seems extremely over-priced for a piece of polyester (for that price I want to have wool, or another good fabric that actually won't die after a year)....

JCPenny, Sears ...Have decently priced suits always in sales.

I am not a size 2, so I havent had any trouble finding suits, but unless it's a job in a bank or firm, I wouldnt go crazy buying suits. I've found that people in my company (I dont want to generalize and say that's it is the US) dress a tad casually even at corporate level.

It's true, sometimes I am surprised at what I can find at Targets, also there is Talbots (a tad steep in price), and online try chadwicks (I think it's spelled correctly).

Good luck!

I just bought a bunch at Burlington Coat factory. Im not a size 2 but....they did have smaller sizes, because a lot of the ones I loved....were puny.

As for tailoring, yes a can be taken to a 2, depending on the suit tho sometimes it might lose some of the styling or details. I have to alter all my stuff, Im short so knee length skirts dont work, they absolutely have to be jsut above the knee or I look shorter and dumpy. And top 1 size bottom smaller, so have to always tailer skirts and pants because not every place has coordinates, you have to buy a whole suit in the same size. i really feel for people who dont sew.
