CR vs IR one visa at POE

birdy - yup ! IMO, it's worth the extra time at the POE, to have an eyeball review of the marriage certificate, to initiate that conversation with the big boss at the POE. Who cares if it takes 2 or 3 extra hours? Who cares if yer already stressed out from the travel? Who cares that yer mind is numb from standing in line, waiting to get processed?

It really is on the head of the intending immigrant, to 'make it happen', at the POE. The truly sad part, is that most CBP staffers are not trained to pick up on dates, visually, without first being PRODDED with conversation about it.

Lorrainhans - are you reading any of this? Yer topic was moved - I hope you haven't lost the reference to it !

I did mention it and he just smiled and said dont worry about that now , u should be happy to meet ur husband , and i got cr1 , do you have an idea how to contact the uscis now ? after 10 months of getting a cr1 ? i cant go to an office because its so far of where i live , please any help . thank you

You have been in the USA for many months now, if you were given the wrong greencard at POE, you should have corrected this as soon as you got the card in the mail. When was that?

Me: Irish/ Swiss citizen, and now naturalised US citizen. Husband: USC; twin babies born Feb 08 in Ireland and a daughter in Feb 2010 in Arkansas who are all joint Irish/ USC. Did DCF (IR1) in 6 weeks via the Dublin, Ireland embassy and now living in Arkansas.

Sounds like you entered very close to your 2 year anniversary, as you were married in April 2009. I am not sure you can correct the card after almost a year. It may be quicker to go through ROC (Removal of Conditions), but hopefully others with experience in this matter will chime in.

Are you planning to file an I-90 because you need to replace your green card due to loss, theft, damage, etc.?

If you need to replace it because it's a 2-year conditional green card that's going to expire, the I-90 is the incorrect form. You'll need to file I-751, Petition to Remove Conditions of Residence.

Improved USCIS Form G-325A (Biographic Information)

Form field input font changed to allow entry of dates in the specified format and to provide more space for addresses and employment history. This is the 6/12/09 version of the form; the current version is 8/8/11, but previous versions are accepted per the USCIS forms page.
