Is LPR status lost?

Apologies for another post but I have a question...

I returned to Canada in 2007 temporarily but have overstayed, I think.

I have made an average of 2 trips per years back to the US.

Are these trips back enough to keep my LPR status or would I have to have returned for a 6 month minimum within a 2 year period over this time.?

The CBP will make that determination when you come thru the border.

They will look at the time you were out, and then decide if you "abandoned" your LPR status.

Ducking in and out the country doesn't reset any clocks - if you have LPR status, your expected to actually live a majority of your time in the US, not abroad.

If you wish to do so - you need to file for permission to do so - up to 2 years you can.

My Advice is usually based on "Worst Case Scenario" and what is written in the rules/laws/instructions. That is the way I roll... -Protect your Status - file before your I-94 expires.
