Our interview will finally take place in mid-March. I am presently building a house which will be completed by the end of March, beginning of April. At present, I am staying with my dad, until the construction is complete.

My question is in the forms DS156 and DS230 where it asks where my fiance intends to live, would she put my new home address, eventhough it will not be complete by the time I get the interview? Or should she put my dad's address, since we will be staying there for about 2-3 weeks?

Also, what would I put on my I-134 as far as residence and property owned?

Thanks

I would put your Dad's address on the forms.

With regards to the I-134, note that you only need to put your property ownership details onto the form if you need their value to be used to pull you above the poverty level. Otherwise, just stick to including your income. This keeps it much simpler.

Best of luck,

G

Or.....and Im just throwing this out there.....As you are building a house and will be living there...can you receive mail there yet and perhaps use that then as your residence especially as completion will be end of March. Just a thought.

You don't need to list assets unless you are needing it to fill in a gap between income and the poverty guideline amount. However the I-134 is only one thing that a Conof considers as in whether the applicant (your fiance) wont become a public charge.

If you can receive mail where you are building your house, I would use that address if not use your parents.

I moved to a new apartment in the middle of the process (and I knew I would be when I started) but I didn't know where I would be living next when I sent in my petition so I used their address for where James will be living when he gets here. It's true anyways, he will be living with my parents until we get married. Basically, use wherever you are most comfortable receiving mail and I don't think it matters too much :)
