I am so sorry you are having to go through this. You are both in my thoughts and prayers. Stay strong and hope for the best.

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”

Dear VJ members, PLEASE PRAY FOR MY HUSBAND HARVEY KEYSER LESHER, I have been awake now for more than 48 hours... Last August, my husband started to complain about now being able to fold the middle finger of his left hand, we went to his primary physician and he referred him to a hand doctor thinking that it was a ligament issue, the hand doctor does not see anything wrong with his ligament referred him to a neurologist... the neurologist ordered two MRI and CAT scan two weeks apart and he saw a mass on his head, he referred us to a neurosurgeon and he was biopsied last October 13, 2011, and it was found out that he has brain cancer anaplastic astrocytoma. the sample that they get indicate its a grade 3, but it might be grade 4, its inoperable since its in depth of his right frontal lobe... we had a combination of chemotherapy and radiation that ended last dec. 31, 2011, we were ask to meet the doctors again for a month for the result, we did meet him last monday and they said that there is a lot of swelling on his brain... so they plan to reduced the swelling, but this afternoon he was having some seizure and I cannot wake him up... so i called 911, until now he is still in a comma.. I am not really naive... I LOVE HIM SO MUCH, but i also know the possibilities... can you just please pray that he will wake up again so that i can say my goodbye properly... i do tell him several times a day that I LOVE HIM and he said he knows it... I am so lost... but i am always brave... your prayers will be very much appreciated... Thanks!

I joined my prayers to that of many others for you and your husband with the conviction that God will see you through. Peace be upon your household.

Hello guys, thanks for your prayers!!!

Just an update, he was able to finally woke up really well Monday... what i meant with really well is that prior to that... he keeps waking up and then going back to sleep right away... and when we ask him if he remembers what happened, he doesn't know that we visited him and stuff like his grandson visit etc... so he was able to be fully awake yesterday.

The doctor also decided to have an operation since the cancer cells growth is outward and they can access it more now than last October... so they did that this afternoon and they said that they were able to take most of it out... and then he will start with another round of chemo again in a month or so...

Mounir412, how's your father now? They initially diagnoseus with Glioma grade 3, but with how the cancer is going right now... they said its a full pledge glioblastoma grade 4...

Again thanks for your prayers!!! Please continue including him in your daily prayers...

Theresa, thank you so much for the update. That is good news that they were able to operate and get most of it. Hopefully the chemotherapy and other treatments will take care of what's left. I will certainly keep you both in my prayers, and hope that Harvey will continue to improve until a time when all of this will just seem like a bad, bad dream.

Forgive me for my most belated response . Both you and your husband will most assuredly be in my supplications. Undergoing my own round of chemotherapy, I'm on Rituximab, Cyclophosphamide, and more steroids and other treatments than I care to think about, I consider myself very fortunate. I was two to four weeks from passing, I've been laid up in the hospital for just shy of a month and my condition will eventually finish me off but that's not the same as your poor husband. I pray that he doesn't say good bye, but hello and returns to you. I know that he will. Please know that if there is anything I can do, even from this bed, I'll do it. Your husband sounds like a wonderful man and you are a strong warm caring person who will get through this, the best is yet to come for you and Harvey. rose.gifrose.gifrose.gif
