Hello,

This is my first time here :)

I've been reading this forum religiously for that past week and a half.

I decided to sign up today. A huge Thank you to all of you who contribute their knowlege to this awesome website.

My boyfriend applied for a tourist visa on January 17 in Krakow, Poland and got rejected for no specific reason. I appealed the consulate's decision throgh my congressman and I am still waiting. We'll see if it helps. I wrote that I really want him to come to my MBA graduation in May (I've visited Poland 3 times last year) - maybe it will help, if not I will be sending the I-129F form.

Just wanted to say hello.

Anybody in the same situation? From Chicago?

Maggie

Hei Maggie and welcome to VJ. Sorry to hear about your fiance's tourist visa. He didn't show strong enough ties to Poland(job/hous/lease/school/commitments)? Sometimes the interview backfires the minute a US fiance(e)/spouse is mentioned. I can't say for sure, that'll be country specific. I just wanted to say hi - I'm a little south of Chicago, NW Indiana.

:)

K1 process, October 2010 > POE, July 2011

Welcome to VisaJourney. :)

I agree that the denial was probably due to lack of ties to his country. My fiance was denied entry for that reason.

Good luck with everything. :)

Hello :)

Actually, what really disturbs me is that he didn't even mentioned that we are together - he said that he is going to visit his friend in US - me, plus he didn't have an opportunity to present his strong ties to Poland - which he really has - I just think that these people act as Gods and think that nobody can do anything, that their word is final :(

I Love Indiana Beach, I go there every year - I love that place, and I would really love to take my boyfriend there some day - hopefully sooner than later...

Hi Maggie. From what I know it always seems to be harder for a man to get a tourist visa. I might be wrong but I know a few men that had the same problem and there really isn't much you can do. I don't know how soon he was planning to come here, but the is talk that they may approve Polish citizens the visa waver this spring. It was on the "Fakty Chicago" web site.

For me personally Kinga got her tourist visa with no problems. Now we are waiting for her interview on the 17 of this month.

I'd trust the ones who are Polish and replied, I know far too little about the Polish interviews. I do know that your fiance can always try to apply again but the outcome will most likely be the same if his situation has not changed. Having a tourist visa denied won't affect your chances of getting the fiance(e) visa approved later on.

Yes, Indiana Beach! Have been there once but it was great. So was the lemonade :)
