In the first place Christians do way more to help the poor in this country and around the world than say the "Left-Wing".

If I want to touch the lives of people in hurt... there are way more productive ways to do it than use the hugely inefficient gov't method.

What kind of bizarro calculation enables you to conclude that 'christians' do more to help the poor than what these programs do??? And as to efficiency, it is pure myth that the private sector delivers health care more efficiently than does government! Those 'medicare advantage' plans were supposedly going to show how the private sector could use the same funds more efficiently than government. It turns out that they required large subsidies beyond the usual medicare outlays just to remain solvent! But you believe the myth because that is what the private insurance industry, along with their Madison Ave accomplices want you to believe! Dannologic in action!

"Your money" will be long gone before you retire. If you do get a Social Security check, it will be on the sweat of much younger people that can least afford it, and illegal Mexicans. Lots of illegal Mexicans will be working hard, and paying for your bingo money.

My father was a Goldwater republican, hated that he had to pay into social security. Until he retired! Lets back up, I claimed groups on the right apart from being forced by gov't to help the less fortunate..... your reply is that your dad, had never considered his retirement but then collected an insurance benefit (That I assume he paid into)..... that chalks one up for the "left"?

In any society there is by it's nature a certain level of "collectivism", if you will.

Yes, I imagine nearly every person.... tea partiers included sign on for certain things.

Where exactly that starts and stops is always up for debate, I assume even you have your limits.

As for your hero FDR, even the socialist he was... he had limits.
