What Does "Case Transferred to Another Office" Mean?

Hello VJ! I just got an update and it says "On February 2, 2012, we transferred this case I485 APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS to another office for processing and sent you a notice explaining this action." What does this mean? Thank you very much for your reply.

Normally what it means is they are transferring you application to another processing facility based on caseload. It seems lately that many are being transfered to CSC for "faster" processing. If that is the case it's possible that you may not have an interview...at this point.

that means they transfer your case into another office...like for example my friend in TENNESE..her case was transfered to California service center..and she does not have interview anymore..she was just surprised that she got her gc w/out interview..so it could be happen to u too..u may not have an interview..so goodluck:)

You'll have to wait for the hard copy to determine where the application was sent. If it was sent to California, it's likely you won't need an interview. If it was sent to your local office, it's likely you WILL have an interview. So watch for the hard copy.

I got the hard copy and it says it was transferred to the California Service Center.
