It seems I lost my original thread on here so I will post a new one! Anyhow,a few more day's til the interview on Feb.7 in Guangzhou.Hope all goes well!! My wife is there but she comes home on the 8th.We were trying to time the interview day with her time in China. On Dec.27th,she changed her flight to come home on Feb.8 and the next day her son's packet IV came.Oh well,he'll have to fly by himself(he's a teenager. Also, they changed his visa status to an IR-2,was a CR-2.

I also have a question for anyone out there in VJ land. My wife's 2 year green card expires 03/31/12...less than 60 days. Was,is,the NVC,USCIS suppose to send something? I heard that we needed to send the I-751 in at least 90 days before expiration. Hav'nt received anything.I know I can download the forms etc. but another couple said they got notice in the mail to start the process. I've got all the info needed to send in,but do I need a government produced cover letter? Let me know and thanks a bunch.

You can't apply before 90 days of expiration if you are at 60 apply for ROC. They will not send a notice for you to renew. See how to renew your GC, http://www.visajourn.../content/guides

Note: If you are a conditional resident and your status is expiring, In that case, you must use Form I-751, Petition to Remove the Conditions on Residence,

Moved from IR-1/CR-1 Process & Procedures to Removing Conditions on Residency General Discussion; OP's question is about the ROC process and the other part of the OP's post is a status update unrelated to the spousal visa process.

sometimes a letter is generated, sometimes you receive it.

suggest you prep the packet nowish, have it ready to sign when yer wife returns.

re: coverletter required from the feds - nope, not at all.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

Well.....we got the "Blue" slip!!!! We were denied the visa due to ,according to the blue form,221(g)-Lacking Documents. But on an attached sheet with a checkmark it says: Your petitioner does not meet the requirements of section 213A (I-864) and to overcome their decision, return with an original signed affidavit of support(I-864) FROM A CO_SPONSOR....REALLY!!! First of all,why do I need a co-sponsor? If I felt I needed a co-sponsor I would never have sent this in to begin with. I will admit,my income for 2009 & 2010 probably was the deal breaker, but they asked for 6 mos.of most recent check stubs for current employment which showed I easily qualified under the federal guidelines for poverty!!! #######!!!!! It is all nothing but a bunch of bureaucratic B.S. if you ask me. So what am I suppose to do,stop someone on the street and ask if they want to be a co-sponsor to someone for the helluvit??? I know it's not the end of the word, but this is a bunch of #######.

And who moved my post!!!! It needs to be under Ir-1/Ir-2 heading.

The thread is in the correct forum. You were asking a question about the Removal of Conditions for your wife's green card and posted a status update on your son's expected interview. As the question could be answered while the first was for information purposes, the thread was moved to the correct forum 'Removing Conditions on Permanent Residence".

I will split off your last post and move it to the CR-1/IR-1 forum as it relates to your son's situation and it can start a new thread.

The thread related to your son's visa is located here: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/351470-interview-date-feb-7-for-wifes-son/

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”
