We would appreciate any reply from anyone in a similiar situation. I.485 submitted early October after marriage on 24th September. Subsequent notice received from National Benefits Centre that the application had been transferred to CSC in order to "SPEED THING UP." Continue to wait checking on line each day with our case still under Initial Review. What I do not understand from looking at timelines on this site is the fact that applicants who filed AFTER us and then went for interview have been approved. Can anybody advise me why this should be when our case was transferred to, as I said before SPEED THINGS UP. I am totally confused by the inner workings of the US Federal Departments.

I don't have a reason but the same thing happened to us in October 2008. We waited 5 1/2 months with a transfer to CSC. No RFE either. The people with interviews were done and dusted well before us. Maybe they transferred a few too many and they got backlogged. Maybe they shifted staff to work on other petitions. Are other CSC transfers also slow?

Where's you timeline? Do you have EAD yet?

Hi Nick, thanks for the response, yes I have received my EAD but that was sent from the National Benefits Centre, something else I did not understand with our case being transferred to CSC. Time line is as follows.

I485 submitted on 7th October

NOA received on 12th October

Biometrics notice 14th October

Biometrics appointment 8th November completed in Atlanta

NOA transfer to CSC received 17th November

EAD card received 21st January from National Benefits Centre.

I did not receive any notification that CSC had received my file, fortunately my new Sister in Law has connections with a Georgia Senator Johnny Isakson, his office checked this out for me and confirmed they did have it and their current processing time is 6 months from receipt. This is speeding things up!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Your AOS isn't at the same place as EAD/AP, they part ways early in the process so the AOS isn't reviewed at the same time(or place) as EAD and AP. You have separate case numbers for each of those, meaning separate cases. The NOA receipt saying your i-485 was transferred probably only said "I-485", right?

Sorry it's taking a long time, USCIS aren't known for "speeding". I just got my AOS transferred and started reading about the same as you're experiencing. Nevertheless, you have your EAD so I guess that's a start.

K1 process, October 2010 > POE, July 2011

I-129F approved in 180 days from NOA1 date. (195 days from filing to NOA2 in hand)

Interview took 224 days from I-129F NOA1 date. (241 days from filing petition until visa in hand)

From filing I-129F petition until POE: 285 days

Click timeline or "about me" for all details.

AOS process, December 2011 > July 2012

EAD/AP Approval took 51 days from NOA1 date to email update. (77 days from filing until EAD/AP in hand)

AOS Approval took 206 days from NOA1 date to email update. (231 days from filing until greencard in hand)

From filing I-129F petition until greencard in hand: 655 days

Yes, EAD is processed separately. I just asked about that because with EAD you could work and get a driver's license. Having the greencard won't change your day-to-day life much. It'll come.

Our AOS

Mailed 10/9

To CSC 10/31

Approved 3/23 (a long time at someplace supposed to be speedier)

I thought things had gotten faster, but it goes up and down. The biggest problem I've found with a 3/23 AOS date is eligibility to file removal of conditions and later for citizenship falls on Christmas Eve. That's a terrible time to file because it gets delayed with the holidays. Bummer! Hope you get yours in February so you can file the next two on Thanksgiving Day. LOL.

Hello I also received the same letter wayyyyyyyy back last year after filing for AOS. Our case was going smoothly until that official letter said " we have transferred your case to CSC for a speedy process". HAHAHAHAH yeah right., After 8 months of filing and most spent at the CSC we then received a letter that our case was transferred to a local office for a interview on Jan 17th 2012. Now we had our interview, and guess what we are still waiting for an answer on his green card. It's been 10 months almost of this AOS process. Just tired of waiting as we all are. We pay good money for this process and we all seem to just get screwed royally waiting and stressing. Hope you hear something soon.
