Culture shock coming when my Fiancee get to AZ!! After all.... Its a dry heat!! :rofl:

Hank, if Amy bakes, after baking tell her to place her hand near the opening of the oven. That's the best comparison with AZ dry heat.

Isn't that the truth, but a hot oven is a mite cooler to the touch!! :lol:

I have been trying to prepare her just nothing like the real thing. Then comes winter, like this morning when it was 34 on my patio, she is not going to like that either

Not really culture shock but more of realizing the TRUTH: There are things that are better in the Philippines and there are things that are better here. Pros and cons of living here and the PI. One is not really the greener pasture compared to the other. It's just the same at the end of the day.

25 January 2010: Concurrent filing of I-130, I-485, EAD and AP - sent via UPS overnight delivery to Chicago Lockbox

26 January 2010: Received by receptionist CHIBA at 8:30 AM/Received date on NOA

02 February 2010: Checked cashed/Notice date

05 February 2010: Received NOA's for I-130,I-485,I-131,I-130

13 February 2010: Received ASC Appointment Notice for Biometrics.

17 February 2010: Date of RFE for Federal Tax 1040/Received Text & Email confirmation

19 February 2010: Received RFE in mail

22 February 2010: Mailed Response to RFE via USPS Express mail

24 February 2010: Package delivered and received at Lee's Summit office

26 February 2010: Biometrics DONE/RFE Received-case processing resumed

17 March 2010: Email approval notifications - EAD & AP.

22 March 2010: Received AP by mail. Received interview schedule notice for 22 April.

22 April 2010: Greencard Approved :)

Removal of Conditions

24 January 2012: Sent I-751 petition via USPS Overnight

She also noticed that in the USA all the armed guards are at the government buildings vs Philippines where the armed guards are at banks and other places with money.

The enemy being criminals in one place, and the enemy being the citizens in another.

My sweet Filipina is from Kidapawan and to help her transition to the US I purchased for her the book "Culture Shock USA". I purchased it at Amazon.com for under $10.00 and I gave it to her.

When I was in Philippines. The only thing I found 24/7 was a McDonalds way way deep in Quezon city. I lived in Baclaran and nothing was open but the nice american bars on Airport Road LOL then I guess you can get a beer 2 in the morning.

I don' t live in a big city but I do live in a city with lots of marines. We have two wal marts open 24/7 and lots of mc donalds open 24/7.

then taco bell stays open till 3am on weekends.
