Waiting for Visa

Hello, All:

My husband was approved at his second interview on 01/25/2012.They gave him a list of documents that he needed to get redone. His police and court certificate w/ translations, our marriage certificate with transltion(which they had previously- three times in fact, new visa photos, my I-864 packet with tax documents, and medical exam. My husband had everything with him but the recent translations. So he got them all retranslated again and got his medical exam with vacinnations done again which made him very sick. I gave him the I-864 packet to include my tax transcripts for the past three years and W-2's, complete I-864 signed and dated, employment verification letter, and my first two earning statements for 2012. I did not want to leave anything to chance. He had to wait until today to travel back to Casablanca because the roads that go around and through the Atlas mountain were covered with ice and snow.

On Friday when he traveled from his interview to his city, the bus slid on the ice and only a huge stone prevented the bus from falling off of the mountain. Thank God my husband was not hurt! He said that people were jumping out of the bus windows onto the road because they were afraid that the bus would continue to slide off the mountain. He ran off and on for two hours carrying his laptop case filled with our immigration documents and the big box he got from the consulate just to stay warm. He did all this with a fever from his vaccinations that he had to have done all over again since it was over six months since his last exam. Sounds like something from a movie, but this really was his reality since it is dangerous to travel around and through the Atlas mountain. So now we wait for his visa, but how long???

I pray that we will not be placed in Administrative processing, but we have no control over the immigration process.

awwwwwww so glad he made it off those Atlas Mountains safe. I travelled on those mountains going to some ski place LOL where they use a rope to pull you up and not like our ski lift. OMG i bought so much jewelry from those standing around selling it. Ohhh and I almost ran out of gas and had to stop at this little place and they actually put gas into my car with a bottle LOLOLOL. Anyway, I remember the trip very well and paid some lady 100 dirhams to use her bathroom (well sorta a bathroom) she just looked at me like OMG this lady just gave me a two day salary for taking a squat LOL. The roads were so narrow and I hated driving it but the viewwwwwwwwwwww but outstanding.

I hope you hear something soon, I completely can empathize with the challenges our loved ones go through to get to Casa. My husband was called for his second interview the day Ramadan started, there were no buses running to Casablanca that morning only buses coming out to the countryside and smaller cities. He ended up riding in a cattle truck to Rabat then taking the train to Casa just to make it to his interview. He left home at 4:00 am and got to Casa at 1:00 p.m. he had to be there at 3:00 pm. He called me after the interview and I was so happy we got approved that I told him to take his sweet time going back home. I was just so relieved to know he would come to me in a few days.

Hope you hear something soon...

I am glad that many are here are sharing their stories about the conditions that they all endured. It makes our wait seem a little less hard. My husband is just exhausted, as many others have suffered, with traveling back and forth for the visa process.

Thank you all for your support!

Thank you for your support. Today was unbelievable. The consulate said that they will not complete processing my husband's visa because one page of the I-864 was missing. The instructional page! I am beyond upset. This page is purely the instructions of sponsorsship, no signature requed nor does this page have any case specific data on it. I had my senator email this page to them. It's unbelievable! Another unnecessary delay. Will this ever end?

Is this done intentionally? :innocent:

I feel that they may need that page to use as a guide. I am still in shock. Well, we asked for it. We got it1
