I know that you can request your case to be expedited for military obligation and many people have done it but I still can't find where it says that. This is from the USCIS website

Expedite Criteria

All expedite requests are reviewed on a case-by-case basis, and are granted at the discretion of the Director. The burden is on the applicant or petitioner to demonstrate that one or more of the expedite criteria have been met. The criteria are as follows:

  • Severe financial loss to company or individual
  • Extreme emergent situation
  • Humanitarian situation
  • Nonprofit status of requesting organization in furtherance of the cultural and social interests of the United States
  • Department of Defense or National Interest Situation (Note: Request must come from official United States Government entity and state that delay will be detrimental to our Government)
  • USCIS error
  • Compelling interest of USCIS

I wonder what could "Compelling interest of USCIS" be ?blush.gif

Not at all or at least not that I'm aware of. My husband is a federal employee too but honestly don't see why they would get any benefits for it.

I don't even consider the military and government employees even close... our military puts it on the line FREELY and without thanks many times, for that they deserve a perk. Just getting a paycheck from the government... nope.

Yes to the first, only if you're being soon sent to the front lines and no to the second.

None, depending on your job it can be a hindrance. If you have some sort of security clearance the process can be slowed as the make sure this person you are intending to marry is OK.

I'm a sailor i get a chech every 15 days it aint worth being hundreds of miles away living alone without any family support around you, and not having that good home cooked meal for months specially when we have to deploye in a huge boat with thousand or hundreds of ppl for 6,7,8,9 months and not being able to comunicate with family very often. Im soon to come up on my window for orders and they sea duty so if i get sent to another base abroad then they would epedite my case otherwise i have to meet the list that was posted by a member earlier.

And no DOD employers dont get the same highs as the military but if theres any emergencies and hardship etc then you could expedite. But its only done if you have enough proof that you meet the criteria for expedite it cant be done just because you want it like that.

Well if you are active duty military, ie: USMC, you are a federal employee, so in that case you would, but I think you mean a federal employee like a GS whatever or a WG whatever. I don't think you do, nor do I think you should.

No, like Gary said, if you need any sort of security clearance (even low ones), it will make things more difficult, since having loved ones abroad is seen as suspicious, and it will be more suspicious depending on where your partner is from and so on.
