Hi all,

Me again!

On the DS-157 form, it asks for your last two employers names and numbers, is there a high chance they will contact them?

I only ask because I don't know if my old Head of dept are even at those companies anymore, just want to make sure that if there is a chance they will be called, then i email my work beforehand and warn them. I hadn't seen anything on this so thought I would ask...

Any advice appreciated.

Nah. Not unless you worked somewhere weird/suspicious (like working abroad in a country the US isn't friends with at the moment, or like, in a weapons factory!). It's just more red-flag stuff.

Filling these "packet 3" forms out is a bit of a pain. I'm sure I'm being asked the same questions three different ways. I've just worked out that since '92 I've been to the US 36 times. Quite surprised me ....

Next time I go it won't be with an ESTA hopefully.

What I'm finding a little odd is that this point seemed a very long way off when we filled the forms out in December. Mind you even then I knew it would come around soon enough and the time I had to get everything done would suddenly compress near the end of the process. And it has........

Okay, just about bald from pulling my hair out here, but may have some kinda result.

My fiance has managed to get a semi-improved employment letter, but it is still missing his annual pay. He says he has his employment contract at home that states the annual pay, so would I be able to use the two together for the I134?

The letter says:

XX can confirm the [fiance] has been employed with YY from 3/5/2013 to present. Mr. [fiance]'s title is Desktop Support Analyst and his rate of pay is $20.00 per hour, semi-monthly.
Please feel free to contact me with further questions regarding this individual!

The letter says:

Yes. That sounds fine. Also, the employment contract by itself would likely be plenty. Do you have some of his payslips? They're really not that strict with the I-134.

Oh really? I didn't even think of the employment contract until now! Well that's a bit of a relief. He's going to scan me a copy of it when he gets home and we'll try establish how suitable it'll be.

Yeah I will have pay slips too. Not sure how many to take though, I was thinking 6, covering a 3 month period?

I took 6 with me which covered a 6 week period, so you'll be fine with those.

I know I am being very overly cautious but - please can someone tell me if I have everything for Package 3 before I send it off?

Ready to send:

  • Cover Letter

  • DS-2001

  • DS-230-I (Part 1)

  • DS-156 (x2)

  • DS-156k

  • DS-157 (x2)

That's everything right? I keep re-reading the letter to make sure I'm not missing anything (I'm too much I know!)

DS 156K asks for some extra doc such as birth certificate, police cert, evidence of engagement - but this I bring to the interview with me and not attach with Package 3?

Thanks in advance guys.

Well I hope it's right as that is what I am going send later today....

But I'm going to delay sending the DS-2001 until the week of my medical. I'm not in a complete rush for various reasons.

I spent last night checking all my docs for consistency having noticed that I said sales director in one and sales manager in another. Chief cook and bottle washer was also considered.
