London 2012- K1s from NOA2 to interview thread

Cant believe it took a whole month! that is nuts...I thought things were much faster now (or at least compared to waiting for NOA2 approval)

Can anyone help with the layout of the cover letter that goes along with DS-2001 -- Package 3? I just want to make sure I've got it covered from all angles...

So I started off with;

- intention to get married

- confirming i am ready for the interview with all possible docs ready and originals produced

- requesting an early interview or at short notice

- the forms included in the envelope (DS 156X2, DS 157X2, DS156K, DS 230 PART 1)

Any advice appreciated.

Yeah, you can do it by hand. I have acrobat pro, so I was able to edit it so I could complete it electronically, but it looks like it's meant to be a hand-complete form.

My fiance has been trying to get hold of a letter of employment for about the past two or three weeks, they keep passing the request around to different departments. I think he may have finally got it, but he said it's been scanned and so I'm assuming won't have a wet signature.

Will this be an issue? I'm so fed up of nagging him to get it, but I don't want it to be something we could slip up on.

Well yes a wet signature would be best. Isn't there a general HR department that knows his salary and will sign a statement? If you can't get it, then take what you have and tell them he tried and you got tired of nagging. They may not even mention it. I wouldn't lose sleep over it.

Hi guys,

So I just finished filling out my DS-157 and I followed the format as per the example on VJ.

I'm just unsure over 'Q10. List all the countries that have ever issued you a passport';

- I was born in India

- I shared a passport with my Mother from birth until we moved to England when I was 8 (traveled with her under her Indian passport - my father is British)

- My only ever 'issued' passport was my British passport once I moved to London

Now, do I state that I shared a passport with my mother for 8 years? Even though I wasn't technically issued a passport of my own?

Or just stick to the British one?

The London embassy website states if your police report says If the police certifiate states "No Trace" or "No Live Trace", please be prepared to discuss your arrests/cautions/convictions with the consular officer on the day of the interview. . So is No Trace ok then? This seems to conflict with what is said above.

The London Embassy site is full of errors, inaccuracies and in some cases total lies, so don't take it as gospel.

No trace= fine. No history, so no more questions will be asked.

No live trace= something in the past, which has been stepped down as per UK law. If you show as 'no live trace', I strongly suggest you pay £10 for a subject access report well in advance of the interview. This will detail everything (right down to the serial # of your DNA sample and fingerprints), and is what they will more than likely ask you for at the interview - it may delay things if you don't have it.

CR1 / DCF (London): 2012 / 2013 (4 months from I-130 petition to visa in hand)

I-751 #1- April 2015 [Denied]

April 2015 : I-751 Joint filing package sent fedex next day 09:00am from UK ($lots - thanks).
Jan 2017: Notification that an interview has been scheduled at a local office. Bizarrely still no RFE...
Jan 2017: 2hr wait, then interview terminated before it began, due to moving my ID to another state 2 wks prior. New interview 'in a few months...maybe.'   Informed them that divorce proceedings are underway, but not finalised at this time.
March 2017: An Interview was scheduled - marked as no-show as they didn't actually send out a notification of interview. FML
April  2017: Filed an official complaint with the ombudsman, and have requested Senator & Congressman assistance
August 2017: Interview - switched to a (finalised) divorce waiver. Told that decision will be made that afternoon, but no problems foreseen with my case.
October 2017: Letter of Denial received - reason given as 'I-751 petition was not properly filed'. Discovered ex-spouse made false allegations to USCIS in 2015. No opportunity given to review & refute allegations  - contrary to USCIS policy.

I-751 #2 - Oct 2017 - Mar 2021[Denied]

October 2017: Within 72hrs of receiving denial notice, a new waiver I-751, divorce decree & $680 cheque, sent to Vermont via FedEx overnight 9am priority.
Dec 2019: Filed FOIA request for full A# file
Feb 2020: FOIA request completed - entire A# file received as a .PDF; 197 pages fully redacted, and 80 partially redacted. Don't waste your time!
March 2021: I-751 #2 denied for lack of evidence. No RFE, no interview, and evidence in previous I-751 not reviewed - contrary to policy. Huge errors in adjudication.

N-400 - Feb 2018 - Apr 2021 [Denied]

February 2018: N-400 filed online.  $725 paid to the USCIS paperwork wastage fund

February  2019: Interview - cancelled after a four hour wait due to 'missing paperwork' on their end. Promised Expedited reschedule.

March 2021: Interview letter received, strangely dated after I-751 denial. No I-751 interview conducted. N-400 interview and test passed, given 'cannot make a decision at this time' paper due to the ongoing I-751 nightmare...

April 2021: N-400 denial received citing recent I-751 denial as basis for ineligibility, even though it should have been a combo interview 🤯

I AM JACK'S COMPLETE LACK OF SURPRISE

Service Motion - March 2021 [Sent via FedEx & COMPLETELY IGNORED by USCIS]

March 2021: Service Motion request sent overnight addressed direectly to field office director, requesting urgent review and re-opening, based on errors in adjudication - citing USCIS policy, AFM and memorandums as basis for errors. This was completely ignored by USCIS.

 I-751 #3 - June 2021 - Jan 2024 [Denied]

IT'S GROUNDHOG DAY

June 2021: I-751 #3 (30+lbs/5000 pages of paperwork) & another $680 sent to USCIS via FedEx ($300+..thanks) ....

June 2021: Receipt issued, card charged, biometrics waived, infopass scheduled for I-551 stamp number ten.....

Feb 2022: RFIE (no, not an RFE, a Request For Initial Evidence) received, for copies of the divorce paperwork that they already have 😑

July 2022: Infopass for I-551 stamp number eleven.....

August 2023: Infopass for I-551 stamp number twelve....

January 2024: Denial received, ignoring the overwhelming majority of the filing, abundance of evidence, and refutation of a provably false allegation. The denial also contradicts itself in multiple places, as if it was written by someone with an IQ <50.

HAPPY NEW YEAR

2024: FML. Seriously. I'm done.

You can say British but when you get to the interview person (not the document collector) ask him your question. Tell him you travelled on your mother's passport. If he think it needs to be added, he can write it in. That's the beauty of interviews. You are face to face with a live person holding your forms. Corrections can be made.

Since we were completely ready, we sent all of the required DS forms, along with the cover letter all together before the medical and stated on the cover letter the medical appointment date (June 21st). However, we did not put a wedding/travel date (saw that tip a bit too late), because we are waiting to get the approval to make any definite plans. Appreciate any help with a possible date we will get the interview letter and/or interview. Thanks! star_smile.gif

I'm in the same position - all my forms and medical results are logged in at the embassy, so I'm just waiting for an interview date. I also didn't put a wedding/travel date as I would have had to make one up and in any case I saw that advice too late. I'm guessing I should wait a couple of weeks since my medical results were logged to phone up DoS and see if a date has been sent? Anyone got any advice? How long did you wait between sending all your information and getting an interview?

Thanks!

We have yet to pay the interview fee at this point. All forms have been sent and embassy just updated with medical results. Will an interview be scheduled before the fee is paid? Either way I think I will just have fiancee pay this week. Also, how do you know if packet 4 has been issued? (another update to ceac?)

Thanks

Yes they will give you an interview before you pay. Paying early has no influenceon getting an interview. Edited by Nich-Nick
