I already tracked it with DHL. Left NVC on the 19th (confirmed with DoS) and arrived on the 21st.

I'll just wait a few days and try calling again. I just wish I'd known all this before I sent the forms, I'd have waited a bit longer. Ah well, not the end of the world I suppose. smile.png

OK. It took my file 8 days from being received by the Embassy to it being registered as received. The 'packet 3' letter went out the same day. So yours should be registered as received very soon.

Personally, I would DOS every day - I know I did :-)

Just noticed on your timeline that you sent Packet 3 a week before receiving it too. It's relieving to see I'm not the only one.

And I probably will end up calling daily, especially since I now have 398 spare Skype minutes! rolleyes.gif

QUESTION ABOUT BARCODE ON DS-156!!!?

I noticed the barcode changed from what I noticed last night. My Fiance and I were looking at it at the same time his started with B and my started with O. Should this barcode be different for every applicant? He will write his answers down so he will have to press continue to print out the PDF.FILE. Every time you click continue does it generate a new barcode for everyone? This was a bit confusing. Knowing that he will need more than one copy. We want to make sure it has same barcode #.

The barcode reflects what you type. Thus different people with different details have different barcodes. It turns all the form answers into a giant barcode. Then they scan the data from the barcode Into their system. If you change one word, you generate a new barcode to reflect your correction.

More than one copy? Choose to print 3 copies at the same time when you send it to print. Or print one copy and lay it on the xerox machine and photocopy it.

Thank you for explaining the barcode change. I told my Fiance since he will write in the answers instead of typing them in... To just hit continue on the blank sheet and get the the pdf file and make many copies at one time to get same barcode... headbonk.gifdead.gif Thanks! :)

Don't you think he should fill it in online? The barcode will be useless so it doesn't matter how he prints it. They do seem to want a barcode full of data.

And even if so, why wouldn't he fill in one copy, then go to make photocopies so they are identical. headbonk.gif

LOL okay...

So pretty much he has to fill it out on the computer? I thought it would be the same as if he writes it in and we just make a copy of that one...headbonk.gif The thing is that he doesn't have a printer at home so we were planning on making copies of the barcode he gets and filling it at home together. After it's filled in and complete we'll make copes of that one.

It does give you the option to type or write. So if we write that is the only way around it...

I'M NOT SURE IF YOUR MISSING SOMETHING OR I AM AT THIS POINT LOL

NEVER MIND I FIGURED IT OUT! I HOPE... headbonk.gif

Check this out... lol

I the (US CITIZEN) will fill it in on my computer. Press continue let that generate the code and save it on my computer. Send him the file saved into my computer, and he will be able to open it with the filled information and print it out... barcode and all!

I tried a dummy one and it worked by "saving as" to my computer what I had filled in was saved with barcode... I was able to open it. The only thing he would have to do is is sign and date it.

I don't think that would be a problem...

Does this make more sense now?

I bet you can breathe a little easier now LC :)

I'm kind of following your model of when you sent stuff, etc...although you've been a bit luckier than me in approvals...you weren't transferred to TSC correct?

Thanks - I think you were the lucky ones they were using to get their timeline sorted after they shipped off a bunch...I don't think anyone who got approved after the TSC transfer got to NVC yet. :(

My fiance has been trying to get hold of a letter of employment for about the past two or three weeks, they keep passing the request around to different departments. I think he may have finally got it, but he said it's been scanned and so I'm assuming won't have a wet signature.

Will this be an issue? I'm so fed up of nagging him to get it, but I don't want it to be something we could slip up on.

What the heck are they going to do with it - send it by sempahore ? It has taken four weeks , ok perhaps 1 month to go from NOA2 e-mail notice to a letter landing on my doorstep here in the UK from the embassy. I was a January CSC filer but we're taking about NOA2 to "packet 3" not a VSC style NOA1 to NOA2 round trip of the States.

I did nothing to speed mine along - got a house, car and business to sell first.
