I don't think DOS gives out dates or if the actual date is even recorded.

Yep they do, that's how I found out my interview date, by calling DOS.

The actual pkt 4 letter was on the doormat at home the very afternoon I returned home from the interview, would have missed it if I hadn't called :bonk:

Not the perfect place for this, but I thought I'd ask here since many of you would have already gone through the whole K1 visa/AOS stuff.

I've had my interview, visa approved. My fiancée and her family (who we will be living with at first) have just moved and have a new address, I'm flying out there next week, and I just thought I'd check to see if the new address would make a difference to anything? Will anything get sent to her old address? Or when applying for the AOS, will I just list the new address there with no problems?

Thanks for the help :)

Hi leftcoast lady !! I have a question for you, I've been hearing about a code with an email, I called the extortion line about 2 weeks ago to reschedule my fiance interview as he wasn't able to go, at that time I was given an email but no code. Then I called the next day to ask for it and they said it wasn't necessary, but you now said that they delete any email without code..I'm really confuse !!

It's likely the person you spoke with didn't know the code and/or didn't know that emails get deleted without it.

List the new address when you AOS. It's once you're in the U.S. (and post-AOS) that they'll need to be made aware of your moves/address changes.

Hi,

Can somebody please confirm the address I need to send my completed Packet3 forms in London?

The Packet3 letter I received originates from 5 Upper Grosvenor St, the VJ embassy info page says 5 Upper Grosvenor too, but the US Embassy London web page says 24 Grosvenor Square.

Which address is everybody using? Just trying to avoid any delays.

Thanks

Yes, they know the interview date. I'm not sure they routinely give out the date each bit of paperwork that arrives is recorded at the embassy, ie, medical received on 3 Dec 2012, DS-2001 received 4 Dec. Lewis was concerned he couldn't seem to get those interim dates out of them.

Use the address the instruction page tells you. On the right of this page http://london.usembassy.gov/iv_15.html

You aren't sending to the general embassy address, but specifically to the IV Unit.

OMG OMG OMG!!!! I got an interview date!!!!

As I just posted my post a minute ago I checked my email once more and I had this response from the Embassy to my email back to them this afternoon:

"Thank you for your email. The required forms in your case were received and registered on December 20th 2012. An interview has been scheduled for you on 29th January at ####. Written notification of this date and time has been sent to you."

So I guess the email option has worked for me so keep pestering them everyone.

How long did you have to wait for a response after you send the email ??

VERY confused about the timeline for getting an interview date in London. The quicker the better for us, so would it be wise/possible to book the medical exam as soon as I have approval and a case number from the NVC (even before actual packet has arrived)? When is the best time to book the medical? Also, it seems that three things have to happen before the interview date is issued: 1)medical 2)packet 3 and 3)DS-2001 and cover letter. I'm also wondering if it is wise to submit package 3 ALONG WITH the DS-2001 at the same time in the same package, or if they should be separate? Thanks for any advice!

There isn't a physical packet. You'll just receive a letter including the URL for where you can access the forms on the Embassy site: http://london.usembassy.gov/iv_15.html

When is the best time to book the medical?

As soon as you have the police certificate, the LND#, passport-sized photo, and have confirmed the embassy has received your case file. You can call the NVC to learn when the package has left and track it via DHL. (There's a thread in the NVC forum on how to do this.)

As long as you're actually ready. That means that if your partner is sending you an affidavit of support and the supporting documents, it's in your hands.

THank you all. So just to clarify, it would be okay to put the DS-2001 in with packet 3, as long as you are actually ready? Or should they be mailed in separate packages?

If you're fully ready for the interview, then yes, send it with the other DS forms. If not, wait until you are ready and then send.

I sent my DS-2001 in with the forms we know as 'packet 3'. I have all required documentation/evidence they asked for along with proof of income/support by my Fiancee. Good luck with everything

I have finally been assigned an interview date !

I wonder if it ever would have happened if i hadnt emailed, whilst I'm glad to have a date im still worried as it will be pretty pushed for time, my wedding is on the 22nd of Feb and interview is on the 8th.

how would i go about letting them know i can make any short notice/ cancellation interviews ?

can I just reply to the email they sent me ?

Didn't you mention being pushed for time when you emailed them the first time?

You can reply to the email and see what happens. Never hurts to try.

I wrote a pretty pathetic email pleading with them and stressing how pushed for time I was, then I just got what seemed like a pretty generic response.

I guess I will explain how that will leave me with only a few days to actually get there once I get my passport back and that's providing everything is ok at the interview.
