Does anybody know at which point things would become urgent and would require contacting the embassy ?

I am getting married on the 22nd of February and everything is booked and paid for, also multiple guests have fully booked and paid for flights from England and Westcoast USA.

there is a lot tied up in this so I really can't miss it,and I still haven't had an interview date appointed !

should I give it a little more time or should I contact the embassy ?

Could you list your dates for:

Date your mail confirmation said embassy received your DS230, 156, 156K, 157-

Date of your medical exam? Any delays because they required further information?

Date embassy received your DS-2001. Did you mail with a confirmation method?

Did you include a cover letter and Include a wedding date?

What has DOS told you? All forms received? Medical results received?

I havent received any mail since the letter stating that they had received an approved petition, that was on the 30th of october.

Since then i had my medical on the 26th of november and sent my DS-2001 and cover letter a couple of days after my medical.

I have had no RFE's throughout the process.

When i called DOS the first time the man said they had received all paper work and were waiting to set a date, the phone line then just kinda broke up before i had a chance to ask any specific dates, the second time i called DOS i had a woman who hung up on me for asking the specific dates they received my paperwork, she told me they had them but when i asked when they got them specifically she hung up on me, so i shall try again tomorrow.

In my cover letter i stated that the date of my wedding was 22nd of feb and that people had already booked for this.

i'm not sure what you mean by the mail confirmation method ? have i missed out something really important ?

I don't think DOS gives out dates or if the actual date is even recorded. The fact that all your paperwork was said to be there is what I wondered. I meant by by the other, did you mail your forms with some method that let you know they were indeed delivered. They seem to be there so no worries about not actually being delivered.

YES it's time to take action. I asked the dates because some people think if their medical was last week they should be calling. Call the embassy and if they give you the standard "wait" answer, just keep insisting it's been more than 7 weeks since everything was in and you have an emergency situation. Every time they say "wait", you say "no, I must have an answer from a consulate official." Write a pleading email like LCL suggested emphasizing all has been with them since Dec 1. Include your email address and phone number. Surely they will pull through and help you out, especially if you kill them with kindness and say "please" and "thank-you" a lot.

If everything's logged, then you should -- on average -- receive an interview date within the next couple of weeks.

Thanks LCL.

Just wondering if anyone thinks its worth me calling the extortion line?? My medical was on the 21st Dec and I sent all forms in around the same time. DOS have confirmed that all forms and my medical has been logged but on my cover letter I stated that our planned wedding date is the 30th March 2013 and that I ideally wanted to be in the US for my fiances homecoming from Afghan. This is at the beginning of March but I still have 4 weeks notice to give at work! On top of this we have our friends wedding to attend to (in AZ) once all the boys are back. He is best man and I am suppose to be a bridesmaid!!!

I don't think I'm going to make any of it :( even my own wedding! I asked for interview dates if possible between the 17th Jan and the 5th Feb. If I don't make these dates I wont be entering the states on time :(

Looks like its back to panic mode after 3 relaxing weeks in NZ!

If you're going to call the extortion line, just call to get a code so you can email the embassy. They won't be able to tell you anything about being scheduled for an interview.

Thanks LCL.

Ive just got off the phone with the embassy, he told me that everything has been recieved and that they updated my file on the 18th of december, he then told me to wait a little longer, so i informed him that i cant wait due to the fact my wedding is in just over a month and i still havent had an interview. So he told me to email londoniv@state.gov and inform them of my case and such, now my question here is what do people mean when they say they were given an email and code ? ive noticed this a lot from previous posts.

The embassy/extortion number is a call center in Scotland and not at the actual embassy. If you want to contact the embassy, you have to email them, but they require a specific code (available via the embassy/extortion number) or else the email gets deleted.

Do you have the extortion number by any chance?? It seems myself and Lewis F are in similar situations.

Maybe I will see some progress now ? I called the extortion number again and this time i got a different email address, londonconsular@state.gov, along with the almighty code !

The phone operator seemed to show concern for me after explaining my case and told me he would put a note on my file ( if this will help i don't know ? )

i've been having a horrible time dealing with the stress over this, trying to help plan a wedding from 4000 miles away has proven difficult as many of you will know. But hopefully it's time for things to start moving :)

Hi All,

I started a new topic on this very subject today and then it was pointed out that it was being discussed on this thread so I thought I would cut and paste my post just to explain my experience with emailing the Embassy direct with the code and the response I got, for the benefit of others. Lets hope they start giving out interviews very soon!

"Hi everyone, I was wondering if anyone had recently been issued their interview date? From other K1 filers that filed their I129F around the same time as me (March 2012) and the beneficiary is going through London the waiting time seemed to be around one month from the receipt of the packet 3 and medical by the Embassy and issue of packet 4.

I received confirmation when I contacted the Embassy by phone that their records showed they received my packet 3 and medical by around 27th November and that it would take 4-6 weeks to issue packet 4 with the date. Once that 6 week period lapsed I contacted the Embassy again and they could not understand why I hadn't been given a date yet because it shows as eligible on my file on their system. So they gave me permission to send an email direct to the visa section using a code. I sent that email and waiting 11 days for a response and today they have sent me what looks like a totally generic reply saying they have received my forms and I should hear from them with a date in the next 4-6 weeks. I am gutted, I did not expect to have to wait so long and to be told I have to wait all over again it seems so unfair. I know there was Christmas but surely that would only cause a few days delay?

I just wondered if anyone else was experiencing a similar delay in their case and if there is just a huge backlog for interviews or if it is just my bad luck. I waited 7 1/2 months through Vermont for our NOA2 with no RFE so I feel like my patience is now starting to run out."

OMG OMG OMG!!!! I got an interview date!!!!

As I just posted my post a minute ago I checked my email once more and I had this response from the Embassy to my email back to them this afternoon:

"Thank you for your email. The required forms in your case were received and registered on December 20th 2012. An interview has been scheduled for you on 29th January at ####. Written notification of this date and time has been sent to you."

So I guess the email option has worked for me so keep pestering them everyone.

Congratulations! My medical is scheduled for Jan 25th. Fingers crossed for quick interview dates for all of us currently waiting. It will be worth all the stress at the end of the journey.

Hi leftcoast lady !! I have a question for you, I've been hearing about a code with an email, I called the extortion line about 2 weeks ago to reschedule my fiance interview as he wasn't able to go, at that time I was given an email but no code. Then I called the next day to ask for it and they said it wasn't necessary, but you now said that they delete any email without code..I'm really confuse !!
