Hi all,

I had my interview the same day as Dan on Wednesday and reading his review I was the number right after him. I have posted my review on my timeline for anyone that is interested.

I have to agree with what Dan & Nich-Nick have been already said, I wasn't asked for any further evidence of support or letter of intent to marry. I also wish I'd taken a book to ready, it was a very long wait from first being called to take my necessary documents to the actual interview.

Nich-Nick, I also had the Chinese woman at window 1, I don't recall hearing any N numbers being called to her window either just the I's

The only question that threw me during the interview was the last one which was what was one of the proudest things I have done in the United Kingdom?? I'm not really sure why he asked this, I was totally thrown I said supporting my local football team St Mirren! In hindsight I would of said graduating from University but it was the first thing that came into my head

My fiance wants to over for my interview and to help me move over there. We'd like to be on the same flight home. Hes going to have a return flight booked because Border Patrol always picks him up. I obviously dont want to book anything yet until my visa is in hand just incase. Say I book my flight for April 20th and Im denied my visa, I can cancel that flight and get credit for it for another flight yes? My fiance seems to think so. Im not so sure.

The cheapest flights are non-refundable. Often airlines will change to a different date for a fee of $100-$200(?) plus the additional ticket cost if the new flight comes in as more expensive than your original ticket. April 20 is pretty safe. Don't think you'll be denied, but a delay can happen. Fridays (Apr 20) usually cost more than Thursday tickets. Did you check out different dates? For your return to the UK date (which you won't be taking), choose the cheapest date, worse times, etc and your ticket may be cheaper.

i have been looking at flights and playing around with the return date and i have managed to knock almost £200 off the original return date that i randomly picked. you can also make the return flight 1 or 2 stop if possible to bring the price down. i even tried return dates in November lol. if my visa is delivered by the end of next week and there are still tickets left then i will hopefully end up paying just over £500 for a roundtrip direct flight from Manchester to Atlanta

jenni and i have been sharing the costs of this process and today she paid the visa interview fee and i have just got the MRV fee receipt in my email. at the top it says "you are required to print this receipt, have the credit cardholder sign the acknowledgement below and submit it...". at the bottom it says "applicant must read and sign below" and then "applicant signature...".

obviously in this case the "credit cardholder" and the "applicant" are 2 different people so who signs it?? im guessing i should sign it??

did we get an answer to this question and i'm not seeing it? as we're splitting costs i'd appreciate it as i paid for this one too. thanks.

Dan, what came back on your police certificate to make you ask for a subject access ?

Mine came back with no trace, was with a 28 yr old dd conviction though.

my police certificate said "no trace" but because i was declaring on one of the forms that i had a conviction for something, i wanted to cover all bases and show that i had done all i could do to obtain a record of it. my subject access came back clear as well though.

Having read Sulphs London review, it seems like spouses can no longer attend interviews with their partners? I wonder if I should call before my fiance books his flight this week. If he cant come with me, no point in him coming over 2 weeks early and we can save some money.
