Thanks all. There are tools out tehre to do your skype call history if you really want but I'm hoping just the calls will count. It better, we almost never text or email. We're CONSTANTLY on the phone.

Well, I think I've got everything I need, and more

  • Passport
  • Passport Photographs (US Visa Sized x4 - always good to have spares)
  • Appointment Letter
  • MRV Fee Receipt
  • Birth Certificate and Copy
  • Police Certificate and Copy
  • I-134
  • I-134 Supporting evidence (Employer letter, IRS transcripts, statements from the banks, paystubs)

Those are the essentials I think,

Then in addition to that, I've got (based on the last few interviews where people have been asked)

  • Full copy of the I-134 and supporting evidence
  • Photographs of us together
  • Letters from fiancee confirming intent
  • copy of the skype call history

Anything I've missed?

You're good to go :) I took a copy of my Packet 3 because I know a couple of people have been asked for forms that were missing from their packet, but I think it's pretty rare to be asked for that.

N-400:

Applied online - 7/4/19

Receipt notice - 7/4/19

Biometrics - 7/25/19

Interview - 9/13/19

Oath Ceremony - 10/11/19

Thanks! I'll take a copy just in case! This envelope is getting large now but, better safe than sorry

God what a horrendous story...unsure.gif I am still not sure why the envelope got opened though?

Does the description of the officer match Stu & Sunshine's officer from this past week?

Some people just screw up and rip it open. I've heard of that before. Not everybody is as savvy and informed as the next. I don't really have any reason to believe it was an attempt to tamper. There's a lot of clueless people about.

No I don't believe it was a reason to tamper either. I am just shocked that after everything, all the waiting, the hard work, all the forms, the medical, I mean you have to be know what you're doing to enter this process & I know we all get confused with the minor details, I mean I have lost count on how many questions I have asked, but I think it's safe to say that we all read up on the entire K1 process before we go into it, and everyone knows at the end of it, you do NOT open the envelope. Poor girl, she seems very confused blush.gif

I said this in another thread, but I'm judging by the way the post is written that English isn't her first language. This might be why things got missed? (I could be wrong. Not sure how I would type after all that!)

It's terrifying, and lets just say that with all the recent uproar going on in London, I'm loosing sleep and sick to my stomach about this whole damn thing

Yes I was thinking the same thing & that perhaps there was a language barrier, some people can be really ignorant & impatient with people who struggle with their English.

Don't worry Photo - you seem to have everything on your list. Quick question, I didn't see the NOA2 or NVC letter on your list. I know these are not on the official embassy documents check list but I have read several times on the forum that people are advised to take these. How important is it that you have them? My fiance has both & was asking if he needs to send the originals to me or not as he is worried in case they get lost. Would photo copies do? I have a feeling you're all gonna say "Don't worry you don't need it, lol"

I know what you're saying but after these 4 years of trying to help people, I'm certain not everybody reads up on the entire process. And as simply as I've tried to explain things to some people, they just don't have the capacity to get it. I've read the London website cover to cover, the adjudicators field manual (unbelievably long), the entire technical instructions for panel physicians and civil surgeons, a gazillion USCIS memos, IRS manuals, Social Security website, and a bazillion VJ posts. But some people don't even read the VJ guides or instructions for the forms and still manage to stumble through the process. I agree with photomile that English is not her first language. (it's really hard to type photomile on the iPad. It kept changing to so many things and it took me 6 tries because its very hard to hit that little x and reject photo ole and various other versions. But it's smart and added it to it's memory now.)

I've not read anywhere in UK where someones been requested for the NOA2 or NVC letter. To be honest, given how crucial that letter is for AOS, the least time it spends out of my or my fiancees hands the better!

Thank you though. I am still sick to my stomach about this though. Everything seems to have changed quite dramatically based on this woman. I have nothing to fear, I'm legitimate, but then so were the others !

Ugh. Pathetic as this may sound, but I had very little anxiety over the interview... had.

These requests for evidence, catching out, new attitudes, new people, it's scary on a whole new level. 8 months of waiting down to three minutes in front of a booth, and now it's 3 minutes in front of a someone with a ... well.. I don't know what, but a different attitude at least!

Sorry! if it's any consolation I've annoyed the ####### out of my friend talking about his new kid. They called her Brontie. The damn iPhone kept changing it to brontosaurus . That didn't go well!

Don't worry yourself. You are one of the smartest and most well-prepared and well-informed persons around. You're a star! :star:

And shouldn't you be asleep??

I felt exactly the same way. At first I wasn't that worried about the interview, then all these things started happening and it suddenly hit me that I could actually be denied! But the fact of the matter is that they can't just turn you down for no reason. If you have a real relationship (which you do) and you have all your documents and evidence (which you do) then you'll be fine. Just be organised and walk in there looking confident - even if you're a bag of nerves inside!
