I've actually puzzled over that myself. Is there anything different about you two that's not like the average British fiance? Were either of you born in another country (or your parents)? An arranged marriage? Did you meet at "Camp How-to Build-A-Bomb"? Is one 40 years older than the other? Did the interviewer ask for pics light heartedly? I was thinking of one particular person where the interviewing guy said "did you bring anymore goofy pics with you? I like looking at silly pics in the file." (Apparently they had sent some crazy funny pics with the I-129F petition that amused the guy so he wanted to see more for the fun of it.)

Haha! Nothing different about us at all! I'm 28 and white, born in the United States, parents both born in the same state as me. He's 27 and white British, born in London, parents both born in London. Neither of us have lived outside our respective countries and we're non-religious, non-arranged and met on an online dating site that isn't one of those IMBRA additional regulation requiring ones. No kids, no prior marriages, no political affiliations, and nothing crazy that would require extra paperwork or background checking. I've also lived in the same place and had the same job for 5+ years so I figured our file would be one of the easier/more straightforward ones.

During the interview, he said she asked for the photos lightheartedly and it was the second question she asked. He said the whole interview was like a conversation and the interviewer was really nice so it's not like she was grilling him and being mean about it. We did submit a photo of us in the I-129F package when we had gone to medieval times and we were wearing silly crowns, but that isn't TOO goofy.

Oh well, the most important thing is that we were approved :)

Well maybe since there was only one in the file is why. Most people send 5-6 with the petition (or 700 LOL). You probably would have been approved even without any further photos because of your common boring life-- hahahaha. Congratulation.

Oooh sorry, I meant that the medieval times picture was one of probably five. It's all good though, I think it's just part of "our story" and the things we dealt with to finally be living in the same place :)

Hi everyone,

I'm just checking through my folder (which has been ready for the last month!) if I have everything I need for Thursdays interview!

I've got;

-Visa fee receipt for me and my son.

-Divorce papers and copy.

-Long birth certificate and copy.

-Sons birth certificate, translation and copies.

-Police certificate and copy.

-Spanish police certificate, translation and copies.

-Court custody/consent order for my son and copy.

-I134, W2, tax transcripts, pay stubs and employment letter.

-Spare copies of forms.

-2 passport photos each for me and my son

-Passports

After Stuarts request for more relationship evidence I'm taking a truck load!

-Photos....2 albums plus 12 photos taken on fiances last visit in April.

-Skype call logs

-email logs (haven't got as many, as we skype twice a day and text).

-Cards, letters, boarding passes etc

-old passport, which has all the stamps in from my 5 trips over there.

oh and the fiance. He'll be arriving tomorrow morning! :luv:

I haven't got an appointment letter yet. We got an email yesterday telling us about Thursdays interview and a letter was on it's way. I don't think it will make it in time, but I've heard this isn't a problem and I have also printed out the email.

I've also emailed the embassy to get my fiance put on the list for Thursday.

If there's anything I've missed, please let me know!

Your fiance is coming over at such short notice? Bless him, that's wonderful for you, I know you felt like you needed him there.

That list looks all good to me. You appt is at 8 right? If you get there for around 7.15 you should be front of the queue, they start letting people in at 7.30. I was in there for 3 hours yesterday, to give you a rough idea of what to expect.

Good luck lady :)

We were ready to move very quickly (have been for the last 2 weeks :) ). We knew we would be getting the appt soon and that it might be very short notice. We got the email at 12.30pm yesterday and I had him booked on a flight by 2.30pm. He had his brother on stand-by to look after the dogs and his Bosses were fine with him needing to leave at short notice. I'm not working till 2pm wednesday, so I can pick him up from the airport.

Yesterday after hearing about your interview, I thought I can do this by myself, but he insisted he wanted to come over and the flight prices weren't too bad either.

We'll be getting a train at 05.26am which gets us to KingsX at 06.28 and then getting the underground. I think we should be at the embassy by 7.15am.

I'm guessing the pharmacy won't be open at that time, so I'll have to leave my phone at home and call my Mum from a payphone, if they have them anymore?

Thanks :D

Hi there,

I am due to fly out on Thursday to the USA I was just wondering what happens when you first land in America?

Hi! You got your visa already? That's awesome! Ours is supposed to come tomorrow. Have you read any of the POE reviews at the top of this forum? There's reviews for any city you'd be flying into: http://www.visajourney.com/reviews/poereviews.php

I'm sure someone who actually went through this already can provide more input, but here's what I think happens... anyone feel free to correct me:

First, on the plane, you know how the flight attendants usually come around with the forms you have to fill out before you get to your luggage? Well, if you've always traveled under the visa waiver program, you'll have to fill out an extra one this time. So, you're going to fill out the small blue form that everyone has to fill out and then another white form. This white form is your I-94 and after the customs officer receives it, they'll put it back in your passport or give it back to you. You need this to apply for a social security number and for AOS.

Once you get off the plane and go to customs, tell them you're entering on a K1 visa and they'll need to see your passport with the visa printed in it, the sealed "do not open envelope" and the CD of the medical exam. Some of the POE reviews I've read, people are taken into secondary inspection or a different section for "new immigrants," but I think that's just to provide more space for people to sign everything. Based on what I've read, it's nothing to be worried about and it's more of the customs officer going through all the papers in the "do not open packet" and signing documents.

The reviews are really helpful, what's your POE Donis? As that also plays a part in the ease of getting in. I'm due for New York next Thursday and according to the reviews this is low hassle.

Bad luck on the wrist, that could have been a game changer right there!!
