If you have asked for a short notice interview on your cover letter, it is worth calling DOS (202-663-1225) on a regular basis to see if an interview date has been allocated. Your pkt 4 letter may not arrive in time for your interview and you would not know otherwise.

Yes I am in that boat, my letter will now not be here in time for the interview on Monday, so as frustrating as it might be to keep hearing the same response, keep calling them.

Your DS-2001 and Cover Letter is to tell them your ready/prepared for an interview so I'd assume yes as long as your fully ready for your interview, ie have wedding date, all documents and certs, ect.

Thanks. I don't have a wedding date but don't think you need to put that down. I have all documents apart from the i134 which I will collect from my fiance when I visit her in 3 weeks and photos which are easy to put together. Will also have a small bit of relationship evidence (photos, boarding passes) to take after last weeks interview.

I am sure I always read that I only needed 1 US passport photo for the interview....now it seems it require 3. Could someone clear that up?

Photographs: Three color photographs which meet Department of State specifications. These photographs must be full-face and taken within the last six (6) months. Note: Of the three photographs, two (2) are required for the visa and one (1) for your medical examination.

I'm just waiting for the affidavit (and the supporting documents) from my fiance, so I will be ready to submit the DS-2001 very soon. However, I am concerned that I won't have enough supporting documents to show that our relationship is still ongoing. My fiance had sent the letter stating he is still in support of the application and that he is willing and able to get married within 90 days, but other than this and a Valentine's card, we don't have anything new aside from Skype conversations and e-mails.

Has anyone else been in this situation? I haven't been able to see him in the US since we filed the petition in January, so no boarding cards, tickets, receipts etc. I'd hate to get this far and then have issues because all communication has been electronic/online.

Any suggestions?

Thank you.

Hey Charlotte, you don't really need to prove that ever... London has recently asked ONE person for some photos, and even then didn't specify they had to be new ones or anything! I've got my interview tomorrow and haven't asked my fiance to even do a renewed intent to marry letter, since it is not listed on embassy documents to bring to interview - http://london.usembassy.gov/application_documents.html I'm not bringing any other evidence with me. Just the i-134 and supporting docs, police cert, birth cert, a few pics to be on the safe side, and all the stuff for the actual visa issuance (passport, passport pics, receipt, debit card).

So, don't worry at all!

(I will of course update you if i come back tomorrow having been denied for no letter of intent to marry/skype logs ;) )

Thanks for good wishes, everyone. I was approved this morning! Review added but message me any particular questions you have about the big day. My top tips: bring snacks, and believe everything you thought to be true a week ago... nerves make you questions everything! No additional evidence was requested, no photos asked for, and only i-134 of my co-sponsor looked at.

Good luck!

Thanks for the great review. It confirms what I normally advise---London wants one (singular) sponsor, so if the fiance doesn't earn enough, they don't fill out an I-134. Also London doesn't require a truckload of income proof or specifically require a tax return. I provided proof of a lot of money and the Asian lady handed back all but a statement of income (comparable to an employer letter) that was adequately over the line.

Now, I want to know why I'm the only one that was asked for photos!!! LOL!!

I've actually puzzled over that myself. Is there anything different about you two that's not like the average British fiance? Were either of you born in another country (or your parents)? An arranged marriage? Did you meet at "Camp How-to Build-A-Bomb"? Is one 40 years older than the other? Did the interviewer ask for pics light heartedly? I was thinking of one particular person where the interviewing guy said "did you bring anymore goofy pics with you? I like looking at silly pics in the file." (Apparently they had sent some crazy funny pics with the I-129F petition that amused the guy so he wanted to see more for the fun of it.)
