Since you attributed my name to writing much of this information, I want to edit the parts I don't agree with. Thanks.

~Nich (female USC petitioner) My husband has no clue how he got from fiance to a naturalized USC--hehehe

I put this together for my fiances family and my own to explain what happens next. Might be useful to people on here. Used allot of stuff Nich Nick put together btw so thanks to them.

Once When NA02 is received?

1. The approved petition will go to NVC. This is the “hand-off” from USCIS to the US Department of State (DOS) who sends it to the US Embassy in London. Our USCIS online tracking number won’t work now because DOS is over the case now for issuance of a visa via the Embassy in London.

2. The NVC will send a letter informing you that they have sent the petition to London. NVC will assign a new case number starting with LND (for London). Once I have this number I can book my medical. The Embassy in London will pass the petition on to the Immigrant Visa Unit (IV).

3. The IV unit in London will open the file and log our case. They will send me a letter stating that they have received the file and that I may apply for a K1 visa by following the instructions on their website.

4. I will follow the instructions given which includes filling in visa application forms (DS-156, DS-157, DS-158 DS-156K, and DS-230, Part 1 only) to the London Embassy. They start with DS because they are Department of State forms.

5. My medical exam will take place at the Knightsbridge clinic in London. I must take my immunizations history and my police record to the medical. Once the medical is complete the doctor will note this on a DS-3025 form complete medical forms DS-2053, DS-3024, DS-3025 and DS-3026. that will be sent to the embassy. During the medical appointment I must request will be given an official copy a photocopy of the completed DS-3025 immunuzation record as this will be needed when filing for Adjustment of Status.

5.5 You will inform the embassy that you are ready to interview and have all the required documents in hand by completing Form DS-2001. It is mailed along with a cover letter to the IV Unit at the embassy. See the K1 instructions on the website to know what information should be in the cover letter.

6. The embassy will send a letter to me with an interview date. I must then call the £1.23/min line and pay the visa fee ($350) $240 by credit card after I have made the appointment before I attend the interview.

7. For my interview in person at the Embassy I will need to I will need to put together and bring the an original copy of all information which has been filed so far plus the I-134 prepared by my US fiance along with two proofs of her income, the documents requesting in the letter from the embassy listed on the embassy website which include , my passport, my long form birth certificate, my police record and proof of an ongoing relationship (Original copies of proof given in the I-129F petition, new color photos, phone bills, bank statements, Skype history, boarding passes, flight receipts, Facebook chat, Whatsapp chat etc). Most of the time this will not be required, but you need to bring it just in case. (a serious waste of effort. This is not Manila.)

8. When the embassy approves the K-1 at the interview, they will issue the visa typically within a week after the interview and return my passport along with a package which cannot be opened. Once I receive the K-1 Visa I will enter the US at any time within six months of the visa being issued.

Elora, you'd have to call the DOS for any information. I think it might be an idea to read through this thread again. A lot of what you're asking has already been posted in great detail, so posting it again might run the risk of things getting lost or forgotten about by accident. Have a good read, and let us know

So when the time comes to send off all the DS Forms to the Embassy, could I send the DS-2001 at the same time and put down when I have a medical scheduled or do I have to mail it after the medical?

I mailed my DS2001 with all the other forms and included a cover letter stating my medical date. I received my interview date 9 days after the Medical, 4 days after they received the Medical results.

Others have done it differently.

The embassy website says--

When you have obtained all of the required documents and are prepared for the visa interview, you are required to complete the Notification of Applicant(s) Readiness, Form 2001...........

So if you have all your interview documents in hand, you can mail DS-2001 with the other forms. If you need some time to get the police certificate or I-134 from your fiance (for example), you can mail the other 4 forms asap and mail the DS-2001 when you've got your documents in hand. Either way is acceptable.

I just dialed the number as printed. It rang. They answered.

Another tip for web pages--there is normally a link on a page that says "contact us". That page has it in two locations. Find it and there is an alternate way to get them....by email!!

Ok technically, this doesn't fall in to the 'NOA2 to interview' category but I watch this thread every day so I thought Id post my question here.

We're still awaiting our NOA2 and, in the last month, our VJ adjudication timeline projection has gone from July 11th to Aug 20th. We're assuming this is wholly as a result of the olympics since we've had no RFEs/other communication since our NOA1. Is anyone else in this position?

If your petition is still with USCIS (Dept. of Homeland Security), then the Olympics have no bearing on your situation. For those of us whose cases have been approved and are now at the embassy (Dept. of State), then yes, there is a possibility the games will slow things down. I was told by an immigration staffer from one of my Senator's offices: "As I am sure you know, London will be hosting the 2012 Olympic Games in a couple more weeks. Due to the presence of the Olympics, visa operations at the U.S. Embassy in London will not be at full capacity during July and August. Unfortunately, since visa officers will be diverted to other duties during the Olympics you might experience a delay in the scheduling of your fiancé’s K-1 visa interview."
