So sorry to hear that Sherri. Hopefully the waiver will be applicable and approved swiftly.

Two quick questions from me - my fiance is moving house this weekend - do I call DOS or the embassy to change the details held for him? I've already sent back packet 3, and didn't want to change the details ahead of time as we thought the move might fall through.

Also, to clarify, it makes no difference when I pay the visa fee? Would rather wait until after payday this month as I just put down my half of the deposit on the apartment (including a $300 non-refundable 'pet deposit'.. don't even get me started!) and paid for my medical.

I'd call the embassy for the address change. Since you'll be paying the phone fee anyway, ask for the email code because you'd rather have it sent in writing from you. If they give you the code for email, then stick in a blurb about being ready for interview and give the dates you sent forms and date of medical. Ask if they can email your appointment notice. While they have your file pulled up, maybe they will go ahead and assign an interview. ::wishful thinking::

Then follow up checking on your interview via DOS in case the letter gets sent out to the old address. Then you'll know the date if you don't get the letter. If that happens, you can follow up again with the embassy to ask for a new appointment letter or email.

Yes, you can pay the fee anyime before the appointment, even the day before (but I wouldn't wait that long in case your or their email went down and you didn't get the receipt immediately).

Oh my, sorry to hear that Sherri.

What were the 2 offences?

Dave was charged with interference with a vehicle(when he was 18) and theft from a vehicle(when he was 19). He's 46 now...as we understand it, w/2 charges of "moral turpitude" a denial is mandatory. :( He has to prove he's rehabilitated. :) He's had no trouble since those charges, so I'm hoping, praying we get the waiver approved.

Okay.. after reading through most of this thread, I have found some info to be quite helpful but I am still unsure of a few things:

1.) We should be expecting our NOA2 fairly soon so what exactly does my Fiance, the US Citizen Petitioner need to do and/or obtain and should he do so asap so he can mail them over to me asap?

2.) I know it's going to be awhile before the Embassy receives our case and I have to send off the required DS Forms but, I have prepared them all before hand anyways. Any-who, on a couple of the DS Forms I notice there is space for a photo so do I need to attach one to them when I send them off?

3.) And I can't remember what else I wanted to ask lol..

First one is answered in the first three posts of this thread!

No, you do not attach photos, they'll ask for them!

1. Post #1 has a list for the USC. Go back to the first page. That's all the USC needs to send.

2. Take the photos to the interview. Take all personal documents to the interview, even if the form says to attach. London prefers to "attach" them when you hand them over at the interview.

3. I can't remember either. :P

Hello all :) I just got my NOA2 last week and am so happy to be joining this thread!

I just had a question before I send a few more things to my fiance for packet 3. Before taxes, I make around $22,000 which is above the poverty line for the 2 of us. I have someone willing to coponsor if needed. Since I only currently make a few thousand over the line, would it be better to go ahead and have the co-sponsor forms filled out and ready?

My opinion is your salary will be fine. Only 100% of the poverty level is needed for the I-134.

Here's where the DOS says so. DOS

No question for once, just writing to say that I paid the MRV fee last night, and the Scottish guy I spoke to said I had to email the embassy on londoniv@state.gov to change the address for the petitioner. He didn't mention a special code, and I forgot to ask at the time (hard to take a second and remember all your questions when you know how much the call is costing!). But having done a quick search on vj, I'm not too worried, I think they will eventually reply (though haven't yet). I put in an extra line about being completely ready for interview also, and made my case number very clear.

Hoping those of us who got our packet 3 letters on same day as photomile get our interviews soon too! Especially sunshine25 and all others bringing children with them, it must be so difficult!

Started to look at flight prices last night - thank god for airmiles - if you haven't already signed up to some kind of loyalty programme, now is probably the time, one or two transatlantic flights home a year for the rest of your life will really add up... i guess it's just a matter of hoping the one you pick doesn't go bankrupt ;) I have BA executive club and US airways dividend miles, and gradually transitioning over to the latter because they do very good deals from new orleans to most places we will be travelling (new york to see family, chicago to see friends). BA club class is just toooo good to give up with them though, and they are pretty good with upgrades for cardholders I find (and not just because i used to work for them - i rarely see anyone i know at T5 these days!).

Anyway, those were just a few things I was thinking about today :)
