I paid my MRV fee and now it wont let me print the payment receipt, or print instructions

when I click on 'print instructions' the links says "The page you were looking for doesn't exist- you may have mistyped or the page may have moved"

When I click on 'print receipt' it wont go anywhere as there is no link.

Luckily I took a screenshot of both, will this be ok?

Also my birth certificate is a bit tatty but you can clearly see mother's and father's name, my name and date of birth, will this be ok as well?

Scan?? Why? Call her. Text her. It's approx Feb 18.

That will be easy. I thought maybe next August or something. It is likely to fall then anyway. London slows down a bit at the end of the year because extra holidays for Thanksgiving, Christmas, Boxing Day, and New Year's Day. Plus many take vacation, and the American's take longer trips back to the US. Just follow the plan and don't rush to schedule your medical before London even notifies you they are ready for you application. (like many do.) The key you hold fobesetting an interview is submitting the Readiness for Interview form. Hold off on that until you are ready.

I suggest do it by London's desired order--

1. Wait until they notify you with a letter that they are ready for you to apply. Instructions http://london.usembassy.gov/iv_15.html

2. Submit the DS-160 application.

3. Work on getting your documents and immunizations.

4. Attend a medical appointment in early December. You don't have to rush that.

5. Submit the Readiness for Interview form when you are actually ready with the I-134.

Then you wait 4 weeks probably before they will send an Interview letter. By then it's easily January.

As far as your other concerns, London would likely take your MIL's affidavit. The I-134 is not strictly structured like the I-864. The officer in London has to be convinced you will not become a public charge. That's really all it says in the Foreign Affairs Manual. People self sponsor...so how are they US citizens or even reside in the US? They don't. If you have a diplomat in the US who is willing to sponsor you it should easily be ok with the officer. If your fiancé has 100% of the poverty level, they would say yes. But it sounds like your fiancé will be set with a job by the time you interview anyway.

Different sponsors for AOS are not a concern. The visa from the Dept of State is an end point. You are starting over with USCIS for AOS...new process...new people who aren't going to be reading your fiance's I-129F petition or your visa file.

Specific requirements for AOS affidavit of support I-864--

Yes your wife must fill out a form even if she doesn't make enough.

The level required is 125%

She can use a joint sponsor. It can be someone different than visa sponsor.

It's can't be a Chinese citizen unless she holds a greencard.

That was very accurate! The expiry is 17th February.

I have two further questions:

Do I have to present the NOA2 at the interview? And what if, for example, I get my medical in January and they give me an interview date after 17th February? How quickly could I get the NOA2 renewed?

Also, I am about to get my passport renewed, as I am afraid the slightly curled edges will cause the embassy staff to refuse to put the visa in it. I take it this is fine and they won't be concerned that the passport I am showing them is different (different passport number and expiry date etc) from the copy I sent them in the I-129f petition? Of course I will bring my expired passport along to the interview as well, but wanted to check.

No NOA2 at interview, but it is used for adjustment of status. No copy of the I-129F petition packet at interview. No evidence of your relationship, or photos together, or Skype logs at interview.

You don't do anything to get your NOA2 renewed except bring a notarized letter from your fiancé to the interview saying she is free to marry and intends to marry you within 90 days of your arrival. Done! So "how long?" is how long will it take you to get snail mail from your fiancé. Have her mail it with the Affidavit of Support things, then you have one for the interview if it is past your NOA2 validity.

They might ask, why is you passport number different than the one on file. Answer: I got a new one because the old one was damaged. Take the old one so they can cancel your student visa in it. (You are the one who was in the US on a visa, right?. But instead of just adjusting status, you chose to go through all this K1 stuff?)

OK, so at the interview I will take the notarized letter to get a new NOA2 to use for my AoS. I will bear in mind what I don't need to take for my interview, and I already have the link you kindly sent stating what I do need for the interview.

And thanks for the passport clarification!

There is an element of my story in there! Although I think most of it is someone else. I had a J-1 visa from January - May 2007, but that is the only visa I have ever had to the US.

Okay different person.

Clarification-- you do not get a new NOA2 paper document. The one and only NOA2 is used for AOS to show you are the beneficiary of an approved petition.

It's more like the new letter of intent you show at the interview would give you a "pardon" for being past the expiration. London didn't even used to care and it happened automatically as long as you submitted forms in timely manner. Then they modified their instruction letter to mention the new letter of intent, so best to do that if you are going to be close to your deadline.

Hi everyone. My fiancée had her K1 visa interview yesterday at the US Embassy London. Her visa was approved according to the consular officers. Today on CEAC we found the following message:

Administrative Processing:

Your visa case is currently undergoing necessary administrative processing. This processing can take several weeks. Please follow any instructions provided by the Consular Officer at the time of your interview. If further information is needed, you will be contacted. If your visa application is approved, it will be processed and mailed/available within two business days.

My questions are:

Is this a standard message following a K1 visa approval?

What does administrative processing mean?

Is it likely that she will receive her visa by the end of next week (11/23) via home delivery (not one of the drop boxes)?

Thanks.

Yes.

For most, exactly what it says. Papers are being shuffled around in prep for her visa being issued.

Yes, probably. Most of us recently have been getting ours within seven days post interview.

Wonderful thank you Jo Amelia Finlay.

Late last night the status changed to "Issued" on CEAC.

I hope this means they have posted the visa/passport as we are due to return to U.S. next Friday.

We paid extra to have home delivery. Does anyone know if this is slower or quicker than picking up from a local box somewhere in London? Thank you again.

Issued means it's printed, so yay, you have a visa and no worries of additional papers or security checks. It might not be with the courier yet. To me depot pickup would be faster because as soon as it gets there, you can fetch it, otherwise it gets to the depot and is sorted to a route and truck and might be not go out the day it arrived. I don't actually know, it's just my thoughts of possibilities.

How old is your ACPO Police Certificate allowed to be by the time of your interview? Due to my poor research I thought it was needed for the I-129f and so it was created on 18/07/2013 (you live and learn!)

Also, I got the email notification of the NOA2 on 31st October but haven't heard anything since then. Is this normal? If not who should I call and what is the number?

There is a hard copy of the approval (NOA2). A photocopy goes with the AOS application so chase it down with USCIS.

Hi!

My fiancée (US citizen) received the NOA2 to her New York address on 31st October and I am still waiting for the London Embassy to contact me. Perhaps they have a bit of a back-log?

Anyway, this check-list is very useful for what you should be thinking about now:

So this is a bit weird. I just got my interview letter through the post *before* I have had my medical. Tues 10th Dec - 4 days after I get back from my Thanksgiving trip to see Amy. Now, on the Readiness online form I did say we were aiming to get married in the gap between Christmas and New Year which makes me think that's why it's suddenly come through like that. And I'm not complaining. Just unexpected.

"What's yours is mine!"
