Hey guys, does anyone have the number for the US embassy in london where I can talk to a LIVE person? I used to call , pay $20 and speak with a live person but now its all automated. The number I have been calling is 703-439-2367 but I cant seem to reach a live person.

I need a code to email the embassy with, and I can only get that code when I speak with a live person.

Help pls!

Thanks,

They threw out the paying helpline, email code, etc. They want you to contact them using this online form http://london.usembassy.gov/niv/visa_contact_form.html

It's next to impossible to speak to a human on the phone.

Who would have thought that we would actually miss the extortion line?! You had to pay to speak to them but at least you could speak to someone!

Good luck!!!I got approved today :-D got in and out the embassy within a hour!! .

What do I look for regarding ceac now?it updated today but still says ready

You look for "Issued".

Also, word to the wise. You posted your review like 8 separate times. I suggest checking whatever it is you used to post the report out.

What does this mean? We decided to get the visa sent to location instead of home... "Booked for collection from collection point" does anyone know who opted for visa to be sent to location? This is the status we are currently seeing with the tracking number sent to my Fiance...

Thank you, smile.png

So, I just got my Packet 3 and frankly I'm unimpressed. They got my address wrong to the point where if Royal Mail weren't delivering other mail today it might have gone missing or not been delivered. So I've emailed them to correct it so I don't have an issue with getting Packet 4 later on. Secondly, they mention the Immigrant/Fiance(e) Visa Checklist which I posted before but not included any links to it or information on where to find it (I assume they think you'll just Google it or something). And finally the Priority Date field at the bottom is essentially a null field (It says {PRIORITYDTE} so whatever database they have me in isn't mail merging correctly). Thankfully I know my Priority Date is 19th Jan 2014 from what USCIS said.

Still. Nice to have it, even if I already knew what needed doing.

This is the most recent instruction letter that was posted. Is yours a lot different? http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/350185-london-2012-k1s-from-noa2-to-interview-thread/page-113#entry6424623

Yes, a lot. I'll take a pic with the webcam and redact out the personal info.

Apologies for quality but it's hard to hold a webcam with one hand with shaky hands. Plus I see no purpose in buying a scanner when I'll be leaving it behind in a couple of months.

They also didn't populate the field at the bottom [REL1]. Seems like it is supposed to have your name. And if the applicant has kids, they are listed there even when not seeking a visa which throws people off.

Why can't Lomdon just get something right and be done with it? Why would they leave off the instruction link?

I know... Transcript of the letter for those with eyesight issues is here. I'd have added it to my original post but the edit timer ran out.

(Embassy address at top centre, date just below and right justified. Address is in usual place for letters.)

Dear (Name),

US Embassy London is pleased to inform you that we have received an approved petition in support of your fiance(e) or K3/4 visa application. The next step in the process requires you to complete additional forms and collect applicable documents. Please refer to the Immigrant/Fiance(e) Visa Interview Checklist for detailed instructions.

The K1/3/4 petition is valid for four months from the priority date (listed at the bottom of this letter). If your interview will occur after your priority date, your fiance(e) must submit a notarized statement of intent to marry within 90 days of your arrival in the US in order to revalidate the petition. Photocopies will not be accepted.

Information regarding registering for courier service will be included with your appointment confirmation letter.

Issuance of a K visa is not guaranteed. A Consular Officer will evaluate your case and make a final determination. You are advised not to make any travel plans until you receive your visa.

Should you need to communicate with the Embassy regarding your case, please provide your case number exactly as it is listed below.

Sincerely,

Immigrant Visa Branch

Case Number: (LND Number here) Name: (Your name)
Preference Category: K1 - GRBR Priority Date: {PRIORITYDTE} (Should be entered correctly)
