Yes I was telling my sis and mom that even though my first wedding will be through the courthouse... I still want an elegant dress & have a bouquet. In the courthouse we can rent out some rooms and the smallest one holds 50-75 people so that is just enough for close friends and immediate family.

I'm sure it will all work out.

God bless you both on this journey! smile.png

You too! ! Thank you :D

Given that I have a business and house to sell in the UK and a visa to get and my partner has a new job to secure having graduated this summer, we've barely thought about wedding plans beyond a quick one for the legals and then a proper do back in the UK next year.

Well I can say *I've* not given it much thought rofl.gif

We've paid today with the new online service. Pretty painless, followed the instructions in that link Nich-Nick posted a while back and it's pretty simple. Quick question though. Which bit do we need to print out as a receipt to take to the interview? A screenshot of the appointment page which shows the amount paid and transaction date? They sent me an e-mail confirming I've paid but it just says this;

"

A successful payment in the amount of 150.00 GBP was charged to your card ending with XXXX on August 18, 2013.

To complete your U.S. Visa application please sign-in to our website at https://ais.usvisa-info.com/en-GB/users/sign_in and follow the instructions."

No receipt to print or anything.

Oh and it e-mailed me something else saying "K Visa confirmation" saying my name, visa class as K1, my case number and amount paid, and transaction date. No PDF receipt anywhere though. Which bit do I need to print for London? ranting33va.gif

Straight after payment the website gave me an option to print a receipt. Odd that it didn't for you.

I think the important bit is the "Payment PIN" which is in the K visa confirmation email. The email also says the transaction time and date, and it has all your other details like passport and case number too. So I'd just print that out if I were you.

Is this the same info on the "Print instructions" link on the site? That lists the same info too and has the Payment PIN on it. Is that the same stuff as your receipt?

Mine doesn't actually list my full card number, it's just the end 4 digits. I think you would be fine with that.

You could try calling Monday see what they say?

Queen--you've got a paper and and email saying they received £150.

"Receipt" is word that means a piece of paper that shows something was received. You have two things that indicate your payment was received.

Thanks both - I'll just take both the "Print Instructions" page and that e-mail then. Just got confused as I expected the site to send me a PDF confirmation or at least a printable receipt. It doesn't tell you on the page that you're meant to print anything and I'm not sure what other folks have been using. Though you're right, between the two things, it has all info they need and must be sufficient.

I just wanted to ask about something else which is niggling me a little bit. (We are both stressing a bit atm due to some of my fiance's family circumstances and it's making me worry about most things atm even if I don't need to).

People have said before about people going into AP because of connections to MENA countries. Now, I had a vacation in Egypt (Sharm-El-Sheikh) at the end of 2011 for about 9 days and there and the USA are the only places I've ever been abroad. In my passport, it has an Egyptian tourist visa in there because the dude at the airport told me and my ex if we ever wanted to tour to Cairo or anything, if we left Sharm without a tourist visa, we'd be in trouble. We just paid them £30 and that was that.

I'm not Muslim, I was not born in any MENA countries. I was born in the UK, so were my parents, grandparents, etc. Could this cause any problems?

Would you or anybody else classify that as FREQUENT trips or close ties to Egypt?

Nope, but I don't know what sort of stuff they can AP you for. It was the "visa" part that worried me more than anything, 'cause my passport has an Egyptian tourist visa in it. Though it is only for a year I think and I did only go there 1 time for 9 days. So I guess it depends on if they believe me. We're both stressing a lot over a lot of things atm stemming from something else and I just want the interview out of the way. :/ We may have to go to the US earlier than planned and we want to make sure everything is ok.

Hi, I had the same thought as you as I visited Sharm and Cairo back in 2005, but my visa was issued with no AP so don't worry! :)

Is stressing going to change anything? Will it undo your trip to Egypt? Will it erase the visa that is required to go there? Is Cairo not a common tourist destination?

You thrive on stressing so carry on with it, but worrying about visiting Cairo is not logical.
