I'm really hoping I'll hear something Monday or Tuesday. But my plan was to start pestering on Wednesday if I've still not had any news.

If I end up interviewing in late September, we will have to push the wedding back to December. Which will be a bummer, but not the end of the world I suppose. :/

Oops. I posted before I wrote. (Haven't sipped my first coffee yet)

Laura Clare- four weeks since medical is long enough. Post off a new DS-2001 today. New cover letter saying it has been a month and I need to be to the US by Sept 2. Please help me. Etc.....

And do the online contact thing today also. Tell them what you need politely. Don't just ask for progress report.

Thanks for the advice. I'll get a new set sent off.

Do you happen to have a link to the online contact to hand? I've seen it before and did try looking for it yesterday but had no luck.

Do you happen to have a link to the online contact to hand? I've seen it before and did try looking for it yesterday but had no luck.

They have buried it under more layers since I looked a few days ago http://london.usembassy.gov/niv/visa_contact_form.html

Basically what I found today to get there--

1) From visa page on embassy website look down the column on the left for Contact Us

2) There is info for the non-immigrant visas to make an appointment. Skip to the last thing that says--

Visa information is available from our website. If, after reviewing this information, you are unable to find the answer to your question, please contact us. Click that last contact us.

3) then the next page 2nd paragraph says--

If your inquiry concerns an immigrant visa please click herefor further information. So click that link.

4) New page has gray boxes with various issues. Skip to last one that says Still have a question? and click it.

5) Then it opens to --

If your inquiry remains unanswered, please use our visa contact form. Click that.

6) finally after clicking five links, you get the form. Pick a reason. I would go with " My inquiry concerns immigrant visas and is not covered by information on your website" because the immigrant visa group handles K1s.

And if they aren't totally bogged down with people who only waited 3 days cluttering up the system, maybe you will get an answer. I preach a lot about quit calling and asking for a hand holding for every step. "Did you get my forms?" "Did you get my medical?" "Did you ger my email asking if you got my form?" That is because when somebody like you really needs help and has gone past a reasonable wait of a month, and has a looming date, then you need to get through to them.

Got an email sent off. Wasn't too demanding but said it was necessary to have an August interview if I was to make the date we wanted.

Will have to wait until Monday to get the papers mailed off.

Just wondering how long is the medical? I've got mine on the 19th August at 12.50pm. Are suppose to not eat before the medical?

Usually about an hour or two, depending how busy they are.

Don't think it matters if you eat or not. I didn't eat before mine (too busy, not by choice) and the Doctor commented on how hungry my stomach sounded, although I wasn't even hungry...

I would definitely recommend sending it off with a signature required, as sometimes it can take them weeks to input it and if you do it through Royal Mail, you can check online that it was signed for and see the signature, so you know they've received them.

Doesn't make any difference if you eat or not before the medical. Doesn't affect anything. They only do a chest X-ray, check your reflexes, feel your lymph nodes, your feet, things like that. Nothing that having a full/empty stomach would influence either way.

I requested it be unpinned because it has degraded to a chat session and the latest people are obviously not reading the information already provided in detail at the beginning. So it's too long. And with changes happening now, it needs a re-do when the dust settles at the embassy. I will work on a new one after a bit. I also asked that the medical thread be unpinned because it started with a location they don't even use anymore. It needs a fresh start with current links and experiences. Both threads can still be used, but they aren't that accurate to look so important to be pinned.

You'll be fine. I had breakfast before I did my medical and a drink of coca-cola about an hour beforehand too, and I was so nervous that I found it hard to walk because my legs were shaking/like jelly.

Though honestly, if I knew it'd be an exact repeat experience of last time, if I had to do it again, I doubt I'd be even half as nervous. They were all extremely professional, kind, helpful and seemed like they were there to help you rather than big scary doctors trying to catch you out. My Dr was trying to hold my interest chatting away while she did her tests so I felt comfortable.

I was worried too that my blood pressure might cause problems, because one girl in there was told she had to re-take her blood pressure test because it was so high. She was literally flushed in the cheeks though and looked like an absolute nervous wreck. My heart was thudding against my ribcage while I was waiting for them to call my name and I was trying breathing techniques to calm down, then she did my blood pressure check not too long after and it was fine. I think it's only if your blood pressure is -through the roof- that they ask you to re do it.
