I love threads that discuss all things to do with weddings, especially dresses and rings! So, my question is, are there any dresses that you have your eyes on? Have you purchased it yet? What will be the theme/colour scheme (if any) of your wedding?

I love Maggie Sottero dresses (and San Patrick, but they are out of my price band!)... and I have fallen in love with Gatsby. Here is a picture:

Our colour scheme has yet to be discussed, by if it is in February-time I would love to go with ice blue and white. If it is more towards the summer, I imagine the ice blue may be replaced with a pale green. I'm so excited to start some serious planning! :D

I've put a deposit on my dress! Anchorage by Blue by Enzoani. Unfortunately, the modelled pictures of it look absolutely hideous, why they thought to use these pictures to advertise the dress, I have no idea...But ah well, you'll just have to take my word for it that it looks better on...practically everyone else!

My bridesmaids are going to be in lavender, in Alvina Valenta 9081. (Colour scheme is ivory, lavender and purple)

I'm so excited! I agree though, Gatsby is a lovely dress!

Beautiful! Have you reserved it in the UK or US? I think I am going to wait until I am in the US before I reserve any gowns, just so that I can avoid transporting it and having to find somewhere that will alter it stateside. I can't help but look though!

I've reserved it in the UK, just because my mum wanted to be there for all the fittings and trying on sessions etc. She's going to bring it over when she comes over for the wedding.

Have you been anywhere to try, even if you're not planning on getting one here, it's so much fun, and to play around with different styles and stuff is great. I must have tried on about 30 different dresses!!

A dream is a wish your heart makes.

Thanks, I love it! I just discovered that the little bridal store in the next town over has a Gatsby gown. I'm so tempted to go in and try it! My fear is that by the time I actually get to the US (hopefully September!) the gown may no longer be available as it is from last season's collection. I've also considered the possibility of trying it on here in the UK and getting a friend in the US to order me one there (and hold onto it until I arrive) as the price difference is quite extreme!

UK Price = £1200

US Price after tax = $1350 (approx.) which is equivalent to £900.

I'm afraid the £300 difference might mean that buying in the UK isn't likely :(

Hi Kitty, I asked to join pinterest and they have put me on a waiting list - I didn't realise that was going to happen! I had a look through your pins and it all looks very beautiful! I want to make my own now!

I went in and tried the Gatsby dress (and 5 others) today and it was a clear winner in my eyes! So I have put down the deposit, bought a veil and now I have to wait up to 20 weeks for my dress! It's beautiful and I am so thrilled with it :)
