6 or 2 passport size photos for AOS?

Hey guys,

I really didn't look into this until now, it seems that if you're filing concurrently, you may only need two passport size photos? Is that correct? I actually happen to have 6, but I really don't want to send them unless I need to.

Also, I read it somewhere on this thread http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/235331-aos-ead-ap-from-k1-the-aussie-way-doc-list-included/ that G1145, the e-Notification form needs to be filled for each of these 3 (AOS I485, I 131, and I 765) Is that true? It just seems redundant since the form is nothing but an email address and a cell phone number?

What are you thoughts about these?

I have heard that some people have only sent two passport photos and been fine but to be on the safe side i would recommend sending the two for each application. We sent four (we didn't file for AP). We also sent a seperate G1145 for each application because we heard that they get split up straight pretty much straight away. Although, if you only send the one and get the notification then i think it would be safe to assume that they accepted your whole package.

Finally time for AOS.......

12/07/11 Sent AOS package

12/09/11 AOS package delivered

12/14/11 Received NOA for I-485 and I-765 (we're not applying for AP)

12/22/11 Received letter for Biometrics

01/04/12 Biometrics in Phoenix

01/31/12 Received email update from USCIS saying that we've been scheduled for an interview

02/03/12 Got an email saying card production had been ordered for my EAD...now just to wait for the card...

02/09/12 Received email saying EAD card has been sent

02/13/12 Received EAD card :D :D :D :D

03/06/12 Interview in Phoenix :).....Approved :D

03/14/12 Received Green card in mail.....

....no more USCIS until December 2013

My husband sent only 2 (accidentally...) but it was fine. And we didn't file I-131. Let's do the guideline to avoid any hassles though.

N400

12/06/2014: Package filed

12/31/2014: Fingerprinted

02/06/2015: In-Line for Interview

04/15/2015: Passed Interview

05/05/2015: Oath letter was sent

05/22/2015: Oath Ceremony

ROC:
5/23/12: Sent out package
2/06/13: APPROVED!

Thank you guys for the responses, I guess since I have 4 additional photos, I'll go ahead and send them as well. Better safe than sorry I guess.

Still not sure about the G1145 though, under the instructions it says to attach it on top of the first page of your immigration form(s).

Send one for each form, even if it seems redundant. They get mailed together but they are processed separately, which is why you also need the 2 passport photos(total of 6) for each form.

This is correct. Folks should consider these to be three completely separate, distinct compilations that happen to be mailed together in the same envelope.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

Thank you for your response, TBoneTx.. looking at your username, I went to your timeline, it appears to me that you're also from the Houston area (like us) but ended up sending your AOS paperwork along with I -131 and 1-765 applications to the chicago lockbox? I have just posted a separate question in regards to that, maybe you can shed some light over this for us?

Thanks in advance!

You already got excellent answers, but just to add to it... I only put the 1125 on the top of the 'package' and sure enough I got notified when the AOS was received and when we received our interview appointment .. by text and email as well as mail... but the advanced parole came in the mail without electronic notification!! Now I know why! So YES 1125's all around! And passport photo's all around also!!

Please read the instructions. All I-485 applications go to the Chicago lockbox. If you missed that, you probably missed a lot of other instructions too. Please read the instructions!
