Pink, sort of...

First be forwarded. United Airlines hit me with an unannounced $70 fee for my 2nd luggage. The night before, I checked in online and their was no luggage charge. But they got me any way at the counter when I picked up my boarding passes.

My wife got pink, but they now print it on white paper. We believe she was already approved before the interview. Yesterday we turned in documents at 1200. Today we queued up at 6:30 a.m. At about 07:45 a.m. a VO came outside and checked appointment letters and passports and if all was well, you got a small piece of paper and went inside to go to the interview room. I waited for my wife in the 3rd floor coffee shop where the all beverages were 50 rmb.

About 10:30 a.m. she came to me and smiled, I asked if she got it, and she said yes. We celebrated then left for a meal.

The interview lasted but 4-5 minutes, not many questions. Only, when did you and your husband first meet? How did you feel about your husband when you first met him (oh he is handsome). O.k. says the VO, show me some photos. He gives a cursory glimpse at a few photos and gives them back. She believes she had it made when the VO 2 or 3 times began a sentence with, "When you arrive in the U.S. …." She felt the VO was quite friendly. She gave him my passport and asked if we went to H.K. and Macau and she said yes (because we did). The VO told her that she passed and she then got the now "white" pink paper, interview ended, and she left to get me in the coffee shop.

I was surprised that they only asked to see our photos and my passport. Nothing else. I am guessing the paperwork we had already turned in was good.

When I return to the States, I will update my timeline and critique the interview process in the timeline thingy.

Oh, lastly, I want to list the "possible" red flags we had that did not become an issue for us.

15 years age difference between me and her (she's younger).

She was married twice before.

Back in 1974 I married an Asian girl while stationed overseas and we divorced 9 years later.

In 2010, me and the wife filed for a K-1 visa which I cancelled because I just was not ready at that time.
