Can my wife (US citizen) use her check to pay for AOS

Hey guys,

This may seem like a stupid question, but I figured I just ask just in case! We're sending out the AOS paperwork to Chicago tomorrow, I understand we're suppose to have a check for $1070.00 addressed to the U.S. Department of Homeland Security for I-485, AED and AP applications. We didn't think about it until now, since technically I'm filing this application to adjust the status after I came in with K1 and got married to her, she is the sponsor...do we use one of her checks to pay the fee, or should I use one of my own checks from back home in Canada. Another option would be to get a certified check from her bank!

I guess my only concern is that would they accept her check even though it's my application and she's just a sponsor. Has anyone else used a US citizen's check to apply for the AOS?

Thanks

Ash&Dave

Yes they will accept her check - use her check. I used my husbands check no issues what so ever at all.

You shouldn't be using checks from another country to pay for this process.
