Hi , i have a cr1 green card and i need to travel to morocco for more than 1 year ( planning to come back before my green card expires )

can you please help me and tell me :

how to apply for a reentry permit ?

can i file it without my spouse or we have to apply for it before he travels ? because he will be traveling before me ,

does it take time ?

do i have to explain my reasons to leave the usa ?

i have no idea what reentry permit means and i really need it

Go to US Department of State website and put reentry permit in the search engine, this is the link but most times vj takes out links http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_1333.html

Key to remember is that you have to maintain residence in the US, the immigration can use discretion upon re-entry.
