Why not ask family members such as your parents for support, instead of a friend? Do they not approve of the marriage?

Realize nothing has changed: You have been doing a good job so far, you will bring this to it's own happy ending, the only thing you have to decide, is if you will worry too much as it slowly makes it's way to it''s conclusion.

Have faith in yourself, you will make it through to the sunshine at the end of the tunnel.

Sorry about all of this. I really don't know what to say. I guess I can understand your friends feelings as this is a HUGE responsibility. I'd check with family members again. I know at the beginning of this process I was worried what I would do if I needed a sponsor because my parents would not be for it at all. Now my parents are cool with everything, but luckily I did not need to ask for their help. I will keep you in my prayers and pray that everything will work out for you two.

I understand those feelings. I worry constantly that for some reason my income and assets won't satisfy the consulate...then again, I'm a worrywart. I would try family, things might be different now. Things will work out though.

There is no reason for you to feel betrayed. I would be very very reluctent to be a co-sponser for any of my friends also, and more so if they were unemployed. I would naturally expect them to be able to support anyone that they were intending to bring to the US and would not want to be involved. Sounds like that you will be working in a few months, just wait till then. You dont need more pressures in your life right now, and there is no need for you to lose a friend over this.
