GUZ IV is one hard sumb|tch - this is mentioned often, not just by me. I say add more at DS-230 time. Have a read? http://www.visajourn...ost__p__4100571

Good Luck !

Call once a day about it , circa 3:30 to 4:30 PM EST, until you DO have it in yer email box. Ask Specifically - Please send me the AOS FEE BILL via email to my email address .

Damn man.. after reading that I'm all nervous. As I mentioned earlier, I sent in 230+ pages of evidence. One of those was a 21 page 'photo essay', for lack of a better term, to back up our EOR letter. It weighs in at 61MB and I'm not entirely sure it would be possible to make it any smaller to fit in their tiny little 10MB attachment limit... nevermind the rest of the 230 pages of evidence... :(

Trips:

Jan2010 - First Trip, met in person

Jul2010 - Trip two!

Nov2010 - Trip Three, Got engaged :)

Feb2011 - Trip Four. Spring Festival, Lucky Money all around :D

6February2012 - NVC GUZ case number assigned - Attempted to OPTIN to EP.

7February2012 - NVC GZO (EP) case number assigned

just remember it's 10 megabytes per email.

you can send multiple emails.

some ppl have successfully gotten in 20 megabytes of file attachments, as well, without a bounce-back error message.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

Well.. now I don't know what to do... I decided to call NVC and see if maybe they could give some indication whether some, or any, of the evidence got to them... and I don't know if i just got a clueless operator or what.. but she was indicating that none of the evidence would have gone to them (because they don't adjudicate or request relationship evidence)... so either it all got there.. or none of it did (in which case I'm back to square one)....

i think you can be sneaky, about it, too -

say one email with ONE Civil document and a collection of evidence,

then another email with ANOTHER civil document and a colletion of evidence,

then ANOTHER email with the DS-230 and a collection of evidence...

and so on...

ad.naseum. till yer out of 'required' things to send.

play around with yer scanner, as well - to reduce the dpi of evidence when scanning it.

Well.. now I don't know what to do... :(

re: yer prior stuff.

look, ultimately everything gets into SAFEFILE - so you'll need to ask a Supervisor to review the CONTENTS of the SAFEFILE 'stuff' stored on the computer. IIRC, a Supervisor at NVC can do that.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

Oh, it turns out I had forgotten that after printing off all the bits for the initial petition I had scanned it all back into master PDFs for later use. They aren't as high quality as the originals, but they are far far smaller. The largest being just a hair over 10MB :)

My friends, I just got a phone call from the Turkish consulate and MY TURKISH POLICE CLEARANCE HAS ARRIVED!!! :jest::dance:  :dancing: :dancing: :jest: :jest: :content::energy:

The last reason to worry is going away and I'd be shouting my joy at the window if it wasn't 20°F and I wasn't sick with a bad cold and in bed!!!

They even told me on the phone that it's multi-lingual, so I don't even need to have it translated. I'm gonna go get it tomorrow morning!

That is wonderful news for you. I am almost too scared to go to the mailbox as if the tax transcripts aren't there I shall be very disappointed and I'm not sure a grown woman should stamp her feet in the middle of the street.

I wish my optin had been accepted so fast when I was in NVC! I had to wait like 16 days for mine!

They must have the system running better now as my response was instantaneous.

Yeah, the optin process has definitely improved since I was in NVC. Since last year, I've seen responses similar to yours, where it's usually a day or two, on average a week, with still a few cases where it takes as long as mine did.

The time from sending in packages to case complete (now a week or two) has also improved from when I was in NVC when it used to take 2+ weeks.

Now, if only NVC can get back to their regular times of having a case number assigned within 1 week from NOA2.

I am preparing DS-230 for my husband. I am the petitioner. Got a couple questions.

1. Should I staple anything?

2. It's ok if it's not in all caps right? I didn't see specific instructions anywhere to do so.

4. I am sending my DS-230 now (this week) but I won't be sending AOS till mid march so my case won't be completed till then. However, does NVC send a notification saying everything is okay with the DS-230 after looking over it? Or should I assume if nothing is sent that I have no RFE's for the DS-230. OK so after I posted this in the regular NVC forum I was told AOS has to be filed BEFORE DS-230 or else it won't be processed. IS THIS TRUE!!??

Don't staple anything in the DS-230 package. Only the I-864 application and tax returns/transcripts.

All caps is required on the I-864 but not the DS-230.

Already answered your last question in your other thread. Send either when PAID and complete.

1. I would suggest to NEVER staple anything in this process. It's much easier for an officer to take apart the papers if they're paperclipped than stapled. So use paperclips.

2. And don't worry about caps. Neither my husband nor myself used caps in any of the forms.

3. No, NVC most likely won't send you an email saying they approved your IV package. The best way to know is by CALLING an operator at NVC and asking. That's what most VJ members do yes.gif Communication with a NVC operator is the BEST way to stay updated on your case!

And NO, the AOS does NOT have to be sent first!! NVC will process whatever package they get first. There have been quite a few people that have sent the IV package first and sent the AOS package later for financial reasons.
