I suspect any slight savings with having a lawyer would quickly be wiped out by them not being up to speed and insisting that they know the process better than anyone else. I even run into that sometimes when talking to my Congressman's immigration guy. He'll insist that I have to wait for NVC to do this or that and that I should just be prepared to take 3 - 4 or more months in NVC. I keep having to tell him that no.. that isn't normal these days if you're on the ball and pushing them down the path.

The one time I've had to use a lawyer for anything, it quickly became apparent that in any remotely simple situation the job of the lawyer is to fill out paperwork (which you could do yourself) and make things take far longer than they otherwise would have.

Exactly. It's rare to see a lawyer competent and is actually UP-TO-DATE on this process.

Side note, my daily call to NVC resulted in the same thing as yesterday. "Your case is being reviewed by a supervisor"

I'm wondering if they're really doing that or just telling me that to make me go away. AVR still gives me the case number message indicating we're still at step 0.

I wonder if actually trying to speak to a supervisor later today would yield anything interesting or just another form of blow off?

Pyament has just been submitted. the problem was on my wife side. She has a saving account and a checking one. She gave me the saving account number instead which had only 7 dollars on it. That is what happened, oh women....

Glad everything worked out, and that's awesome that NVC is going to hold on to your IV package until payment goes through.

i hope the payment is cleared tomorrow defnitely as saturday and sunday NVC is closed. They told my wife that they will review our IV package next week immediately the payment is made. I was like : wow God is with us

What's the typical/average wait time for the AOS to be invoiced? I just got my NVC# assigned yesterday.

The 2nd question is, I've read some members got DS-3032 email accepted the same day that their NVC# was assigned and some got rejected. I've already sent it out today via email. Would it be fine?

It's usually been taking a few days from NVC case number assigned to AOS invoiced. Just keep checking the payment portal as often as you want.

And I can't answer your second question. Sometimes it gets accepted, sometimes it doesn't. Not a big deal though. If you get a response saying it was rejected, just immediately send another one. This way, no time is wasted.

That's correct. Actually that's the 1st thing that the lady asked me "Would you like to add your email and the beneficiary's to this case?".

While doing my routine checking I received this error message when I logged to https://ceac.state.gov/CTRAC/Invoice/signon.aspx:

This case is in the process of termination. Fee payments and online forms can no longer be accepted. If you believe you have received this message in error, or to resume processing of the case, please contact the NVC immediately.

I'm assuming some one has access the database to update it?!

thank you all!!!! I just talk to my husband, and he told me he will not pay anything to the lawyer anymore. We will just wait on NVC send us the case completed and than forward to the Embassy in Madrid, we no longer need him at all. And thank you all for always being kind and helping us promptly. I'll let you guys know about my process.
