Not that I plan on this happening but if I were to get an RFE would they send it through e-mail or snail mail? Just wondering because I just received my NOA-1 hard copy today

Surely you mean your NOA2...

NOA-1 ? what? hmmmmm Yer still in USCIS, not at NVC.. OK.

there MAY be an electronic notification that you are to receive an RFE, but the contents of the RFE (containing what they are asking for) are solely sent via postal mail.

but - since yer cleared out of USCIS, with document intake to do at NVC -

the window for stopping all processing at USCIS is over, gone, finished.

If you were gonna receive an RFE, it would have come already.

Maybe yer thinking, instead, of the checklist letter? that's sent out via email, is the NVC-equalivent of a USCIS-RFE.

I was making a new DS-230 with my husband's new address in the US, and I noticed there was a typo in my mother's name

NVC didn't spot it (they had my birth certificate and wedding certificate to check).

Of course I'm bringing a new DS-230 at the interview with the name correctly spelled, but do you think it could cause any problem?

But no, it shouldn't cause a problem. Just point it out to the officer when handing documents over.

That's why I suggest having other people review it as well as you've looked at the form so often, you've got a lesser chance of spotting an error.
