Okay... so far it looks like we've "lost" more than a week of time waiting to convert to EP. All NVC will say is that nothing can be done until the conversion is complete.

That said, has anyone else taken this long to convert before? We got the email saying we were "enrolled" in EP over a week ago, but NVC insists that the (clearly exceptionally complicated and difficult) enrollment process is still not complete and we're still stuck until it is. What I'm wondering is if this delay is normal or if there is some magic code phrase I need to use with them?

IV package will be sent today. We have all my document ( beneficiary) ready except the IV fee bill that is showed in progress. I talked to NVC they say the payment will show " Paid" either friday or monday of the next week. We want to save a few days. Isn t it a good idea proceeding so people?

Do Not send the IV Package until you have the barcoded coversheet printed out. Must to add it to the IV Package, on the top.

Question: On the I-864 question 23 my current individual annual income: If I got a raise at the beginning of this year and have the letter of my employer proving this do I put there the amount I will make this year or the amount that shows on my income taxes? I can use 2011 income taxes right?

(double checking my forms as I wait for my case #)

Current = This Year <> Income Tax Data

Income Tax Data = Prior Year

HTH !

Well, there was Palladin. Ryan's pushed a link out here, for you, earlier.

send? what?

the coversheets are downloaded at the payment portal. You are the beneficiary, not the petitioner. You keep writing in the voice of the petitioner. It confuses ppl, much.

how do you receive these papers? email? postal? Uncle Fred personal drop ?

list the papers you've received, so far. Thanks !

True, and I read it. If, as Ryan postulated, my experience mirrors his, sending the OPTIN email too quickly has probably at least doubled my NVC time. :(

YUP - I Mention in my EP wiki to OPT IN after the AOS fee bill arrives.

True, though in truth it was buried a bit. I did make a slight change to the wiki to make it more obvious that one should not attempt to OPTIN until that point.

The only thing keeping me from totally hating myself is that our IV package bits aren't ready yet. Though, it would be nice to at least proceed with the AOS track while we're finishing the IV bits. Unfortunately, we're just stuck and losing time. I do hope an April interview is still possible.

Well, I didn't have smooth sailing with EP either. It took 16 days from opting in to receiving the acceptance. In between though, I sent the two packages (AOS and IV) by email, thinking that by the time NVC got to my packages, they would have already gotten to my optin and accepted it. But after about a week from my optin being accepted (which took 16 days), an operator suggested I re-send the documents because I had sent them before optin was accepted. So, I re-sent them, and it still took another week or so before they were being reviewed, and finally completing my case.

Just remember, it's rare to see a case on VJ where it goes fast and smoothly. Although it might be taking a bit longer now, it will go fast once your case has been converted properly and back on track. NVC usually reviews and completes cases within a week or two. You'll more than likely still beat my time of 37 days in NVC.

All true. I'm just frustrated since the delay is nearly 100% my fault and we'd likely, assuming no one else messed anything up, be at least done with the AOS track by now. Frankly, as long as we get our April interview I'll be happy in the end.

If I would have known it's better to optin after the AOS bill is invoiced for China EP folks, then I would have said something. But I honestly didn't know. Wonder if it's the same for all EP cases; to optin AFTER the first fee is invoiced...

We didn't have a problem with the immediate optin.
