Very nice of you Saylin. Now we are waiting for our joint sponsor to get her IRS tax transcript on friday. I do not know if we will have time to send the AOS the same day. But if IV fee bill is shows" PAID" we will surely send the document as we already have evrrything ready for IV package

FYI: there was a questions and answers session with the ambassador on USEM Paris Facebook page a couple weeks ago. Of course, I took the opportunity to ask if, after making tourist visa process easier and loosening rules on bans for overstay, President Obama had any plan to simplify the process of immigration visas.

The ambassador answered me, which is nice, but his response was quite puzzling: he mentioned the fact that all immigrant visas for Western Europe are managed by USCIS office in Rome. What?? Anyway, he then insisted that USCIS was doing its best to achieve their goals and process the applications asap. I'll let regular July filers assess this statement.

So it looks like there is no plan to change IV process and make it less complex and long, at least not by this administration.

I think it's pretty sad to see that people who didn't follow the rules and should be subject to a bar can be graced, but the ones who do it the legal way will still have to endure this lengthy and challenging process.

As my husband says, you'd think they'd want him there (in the US) spending money and paying taxes not making the process slow and complicated.

Yeah, there was an article about them speeding up the process of getting a green card for people who had gotten here illegally or over stayed B2s and not making them go back to whence they came during the process. The entire article made it painfully clear that this was designed for and would only benefit those who did it illegally. Implied was the fact that it would actually punish those who did things the right way in two ways. First, we'd be waiting separated while they got to be together and second, it would likely cause backups at USCIS while those applications were processed at the head of the line pushing ours further down.

As to USCIS doing things faster, that is what we call "a lie". Lots of poor July filers are still waiting. I feel bad for them. One posted the other day that they've tipped over 210+ days with no action.

So true. Our NOA1 was at the end of July, and I still watch those forums to see if the people I filed with have gotten their NOA2. We were ridiculously lucky.

Indeed. I'm absolutely convinced that the only reason mine was processed is that my Congressman's Immigration person spoke to someone he personally knew at CSC and got them to pull and process our file. Otherwise, I'm convinced that it would still be sitting in whatever box all the "deadly 4August touch" petitions went to.

Yup, or a presumed successful expedite. We never got word of whether we were approved or denied for the expedite; we just got the NOA2 5 days after requesting.

I imagine they pulled it to determine whether you were eligible for the expedite, and then decided that since you were on the line for 150 days they would just process it while they had it in their hands vice stuffing it back in the pile.

Thus, no notice of an approved expedite and you got processed "on time".

What kills me are the people in those other threads who ask such things as "should i call them or just keep waiting?"

Well, we were actually in contact with the USCIS Chicago field office, which is who we sent our evidence for the expedite to, and since they don't actually have the files in Chicago, I doubt we were pulled just to check our eligibility for the expedite. So I am pretty confident that the expedite was either approved, or the field officer told them to process it immediately regardless of the expedite. I don't really think it was just from CSC checking our file out, and if the expedite had been denied, Chicago probably would have never contacted California about it.

Can my wife request expedite at this stage of NVc ( while IV fee bill is not payed yet)? If yes can the request be made via email before and waiting for their response and send after the documents related to it?

Yes, but she starts all with a TELEPHONE CALL into NVC (not you, alas). The intake process is different, and is somewhat unique per petitioner. I've mentioned this before, written this before, TO YOU, here at VJ. The thing that is COMMON is that SuperVisor Sue gets involved, at some point (not in the beginning).

So, tell your wife (this is me telling you this for a 4th time, btw) to USE THE TELEPHONE and call into NVC to start the expedite process.
