Taking Saylin's advice I called NVC back and asked for more details. I asked specifically if the DS-3032 had been generated on their end and they said no. I then asked if I would have to send in the PDF we already emailed them again and they said yes.

Interestingly, she hinted that the delay may actually have been caused by trying to switch to EP prior to DS-3032 generation. Which is to say that they've spent some portion of the last week or so switching us over to that and the result was no DS-3032 being generated and the one we sent in with the Optin was promptly ignored.

That actually sounds right, this delaying bit.

Can you OPT IN AGAIN, after the AOS Fee bill is in yer email box? (rather, know that the OPT IN TIME is perfect, after you have the AOS FEE BILL in yer email inbox )

Really? Now that's interesting. Do they schedule the EP cases and not the non-EP cases or do they actually do the dirty deed for both?

Exception - GUZ IV schedules PAPER Casefiles, NON-EP, at GUZ IV, after the casefile is opened (which is after it's arrived into the GUZ IV unit from the Bonded Chinese Customs Warehouse).

as for other countries, mostly, yes, NVC schedules the appointments.

Caveat - Mostly, NVC can see the calenders at each IV unit, worldwide.

No idea if I could OPTIN again? For that matter, no idea if it would be needed. Some of the email traffic I've gotten from them indicated that I was already enrolled in EP, they just didn't seem to accept the DS-3032.

Yeah, jumped the gun. Honestly I didn't figure doing so would cost us a week as it seems to have done. Too many other moving parts it seems.

Okay, that makes sense. Given the huge delays between the paper case going out and GUZIV actually getting it, having them schedule the interviews instead of NVC makes a lot of sense.

Ryan may have chimed in by now, but - since yer using NVC EP for GUZ IV - expect fast movement after 'final review' timetick, scheduling for these exact casefile types occur in quasi-real-time, without any waiting for the 'monthly scheduling queue' that other paper files must slog through. Actually, NVC DOES SCHEDULE the interview for an EP case headed to GUZ IV, not the other way round.

To interject my own experience, I received notification of the interview appointment exactly one week after receiving the case complete. That notification occurred one day after I was told that no interview dates were available for the next month.

Oh NVC we love you. Yesterday I received an email from them. Thanking me for the on line 260 which they couldn't process until they had received outstanding items. So my heart's thumping wondering what we forgot to send. At the end of the letter it says civil documents.

Oh why can't they check their files before sending standard letter? (I know, stupid question.)

Yep, I'm still having the stupid server error (NVC server) when I try to click on 'Pay' next to the IV fee. This is getting ridiculous... This is the fourth day with this issue. It can't be specific to me... that'd just be weird... It HAS to be a general problem... I don't wan to snail mail anything, but will if it's not fixed by Friday. I have everything else ready to GO! If anybody get's their IV invoiced and ready to pay tell me if you have the same problem or not. Thanks. Yes, I've used the Mozilla, Chrome, and Internet explorer version 7, 8, and 9 and the problem didn't change... also used a couple different computers.

Below is what the payment portal said about fees:

IMPORTANT: Any payment you make now requires 2-3 business days to complete and will have IN PROCESS status until then.

• Sign into this case again after 2-3 business days to verify that the payment status has become PAID.

I am currently in 3 business day and until now nothing!

Just need confirmation... Can I just go ahead and send in i-864 stuff through EP now that my AOS has been paid (I have to go scan the photos and that's all before I can send it in)???... Does it matter whether the IV hasn't been paid yet? I don't think so, just checking.

Since AOS and IV are separate tracks, then you're right in thinking that you can send off the AOS package. It doesn't matter where you are in the IV track as they're not related.

Yup, but

You most likely have some photos for the IV/DS-230 - which (as Saylin mentions) is a seperate (but parallel) track for NVC EP document intake.

Use it each time you call into NVC. You must 'use it' until it arrives. Then you'll have a new phrase.

Yeah, I realized about the photo thing a few minutes before I saw your post... wasn't sure. Thanks. I'll get that stuff sent out now...

One more question for now: My wife has an unused us tourist passport... we only have to present that at the interview stage, right?
