Don't know if anybody can confirm if this is a general problem or not (I think it would be)... but I've been trying to pay the IV since Friday night. BUT I couldn't because the system wouldn't let me click on the box next to pay... The fee was available--that's not the problem... There was just some kind of error (the box wasn't clickable)... Then they did some updating on the system and since Saturday I've been getting a server error when I click on to pay... Now I can't even get to the page where I'm supposed to pay... I've already emailed them... They'll probably get back to me today... But what the heck... How can they screw that up... and not fix it for days... Any ideas on what to do...???...

If love is so simple / Why is this so complex?

If this can help, mine was not clickable either. I made my AOS [ayment ( 88 dollars ) Friday night as well. Only one tab was clickable ( the AOS fee). Today, IV bill does not show neither not invoice or my name with the click options.

The part about not being able to click the box to pay for a few days is normal. Some people suggest trying different browsers, but it was greyed out/unclickable for me for several days on all browsers and operating systems, then one day it was available on all of my browsers. So seeing the bill as invoiced but not being able to click the box is normal. No need to check on things over the weekend because nothing changes on the payment system from Friday until Monday.

I don't know about not being able to get to the page though. It's possible that not being able to access the page is due to your IV bill updating from "invoiced (but a greyed-out box)" to straight up "invoiced" and payable.

Just to make sure, are you using IE as your browser when trying to pay?

It'll probably be a week or two before they get reviewed. Just keep calling NVC every single day and asking if they've reviewed your packages.

The greyed out box happens on all browsers. When it was happening to me, I checked Safari, Firefox, and Chrome on Mac as well as IE, Firefox, and Chrome on Windows. Once it was no longer grey, it was clickable on Chrome and Safari (those were the only two I checked before paying it).

Wonder if they don't accept credit cards just to avoid paying the credit card company fees?

I think they want cold hard cash because Americans can claim bankruptcy and then the company might not get paid--that is just my guess

NVC just told me that:

A) Even though I had thought they had accepted our DS-3032 (Based on having gotten a response from them saying the case was now eligible for further processing), they are now saying that since they haven't requested the DS-3032 from us they haven't accepted it. Thus, we're still at Step 1 with zero forward progress beyond getting a case number.

B) They'll request it from me within 2 to 4 weeks. (Probably boiler plate, but at this point I have no reason not to think it'll take that long or even longer)

So.... The reason we've not received our AOS or IV bill? Our case is still stuck in limbo with no action on it at all.

Happy Monday.

A+B = total bullsh*t in my opinion. Do NOT naively believe that NVC operators are any better than USCIS ones just because they know your birthdate and stuff.

In the begining of the NVC step, I called an operator to ask if we'd need a co-sponsor, since my husband last 3 tax return transcripts would only show income from abroad. You know what he said? "Are you gonna change your money into dollars?"

The guy had obviously NO IDEA whatsoever what his own organization was dealing with.

Do not believe that m*ron you talked to, if you received an email stating that your choice of agent was accepted, then it WAS accepted. Replies to the DS3032 email are not automatic, someone actually does the agent registration and replies. Mine was called Emma, yes they sign at the bottom. IF it was too early to send it, you would receive a rejection email, like some members recently did.

That was kind of weird...I called DOS just to see if they could confirm that our package made it to Montreal, and she just reiterated the interview date and asked if we received packet 4 (which we did, it's just the interview letter and we got it via email). Then she said "have a good day!" Uh...so did Montreal get it? NVC told me they have no way of tracking it either. I guess we just have to go with faith in the postal service! Not that that is hard to do...it's just Canada, but I want to fill in my timeline with the date the consulate received it! :)

Max is currently at his medical, btw, and they DID make him get a flu shot. Oy vey.

Same kind of experience for me last time. The guy was a little creepy...

Alizon,

Did you ask NVC what day was my file sent to the embassy?

When they tell you what day it was then track the package thru dhl.com and use the day before they sent it as the EXP number.

Like--if they said NVC sent it on Jan 31

go to DHL.com---find track by shippers reference number

Type in

EXP 30 JAN 2012A

DATE RANGE JAN 31 THRU FEB 8TH AND THEN JUST SELECT COUNTRY

I can find it if you tell me what date nvc sent it to the embassy and then you can fill in your timeline as best as you can.

I'd have to look at my vaccination record at home to be sure, but I think there's only one vaccine for MMR, a combination one for measles, mumps, and rubella.

And as far as I know, no, they don't test the blood for immunities, just for syphilis.

I read here on VJ that MMR required 2 shots, so I had one last month, and I kept asking my doctor for the second one, but she insisted there's only one.

I also just did a syphilis test prescribed by my doctor, I'll bring it to the medical and we'll see if I can avoid the blood test that day. Doing it in the lab I'm used to was a lot more easy.

(if someone could explain me how to use the multiquote function, I'd stop spamming, I promise!)

Well, for MMR, there's the initial shots when you're an infant, then there's the booster shot. I'm pretty sure I had both, but according to the website I linked before, it doesn't say anything about a booster being needed.

As for the blood test you got done, I highly doubt they'll accept it. They'll want their own blood to test to make sure it's accurate.

For multi quoting, it's easy. Whenever you want to quote someone, hit the 'multiquote' at the bottom right of their post. Keep doing this with the posts you want to quote, then at the bottom of the page, hit the 'add reply' button.

No kidding. I can't remember what my husband did as he paid the bills at work where he works on an iMac. Apparently they only favor those with PCs laughing.gif
