Saylin, I'm ready to mail the AOS package. I've included the following:

bar coded cover sheet

I-864ez

Most recent Tax Return (2010)

IRS Transcripts (2008 and 2009)

W-2s for 2008-2010 and 2011

Pay Stubs (6 months)

Is there anything missing? I just don't want to get RFE's.

Thanks for all your help.

If you're sending tax transcripts for 2008 and 2009, then you do NOT need to include the W2s for them (unless you filed jointly with someone and need to show just YOUR income).

But since you're just submitted a tax return for 2010 (and not a tax transcript), then keep the W2 in the package as that's needed, as well as any other schedules if applicable.

Also, for the pay stubs, does yours have a YTD amount on it? If so, then you don't need to include 6 months worth and just the most recent with the YTD amount highlighted.

Other than that, it looks good good.gif

Still no invoice for me :(

I really wonder if switching to EP before paying the AOS bill has caused a slow down of some kind...

Maybe, but the AOS Fee bill takes a few days to get generated, regardless.

The Conversion to EP is usually over when you gets the email from NVC giving the GZO #. I sense you already gots that.

I say wait a week from getting the GZO #, and bug em again (that's today's opinion) on the 8th calendar day.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

I just called DOS, all the people I've been talking to there were weird

They actually sound human and not automated response machines, it's unexpected!

Anyway, the guy I talked to said Paris embassy has not received my package yet. Maybe I was following the wrong package? But there was only one going to Paris and picked up on Feb 8. Or maybe it was received but he didn't see it in his system yet since it was signed for this morning?

He also said I was going to receive instructions from the embassy. What is it supposed to be?

If it was just signed this morning, then your case might still be in their mailroom or they're still inputting your case in their system. I'd wait until Monday to call.

And I don't know what that DOS agent was talking about. You're not supposed to receive anything from the embassy. The last correspondence you ever get while in France is the interview letter from NVC.

Saylin, my wife filed her 2011 tax return and gotten tax transcript ready, then we will send 2009,2010,2011 too, right?

Yes, if your wife has filed her 2011 tax return, gotten her refund (if any), and received the tax transcripts she ordered, then submit 2009-2011 for her tax information.

Oh that's right, you've got domicile issues to deal with. So, the interview might be slightly harder, but if you've got everything in order, then no need to stress about it.

And enjoy Montreal while you're there :) Make sure you pick up on some basic French phrases before you leave!

We'll have our ducks in a row by the time of interview (assuming earliest we get an interview is April) and what we sent with the I-864 is good enough based on what I've read but it could be reviewed by a picky person. I'm not stressed or worried as I know they have the paperwork. It was annoying talking to the IRS because they couldn't tell me anything so you don't know where you are when it's like that.

I've told hubby he needs to do US taxes asap as the return transcript might be needed at interview. Good thing he is so much happier since he started his new job.

People here in the States rarely have any clue how difficult this process is and how prone to failure. They can't seem to understand why I'm so nervous and trying to make every thing perfect.

It's amazing the number of people who think I can just move to the US as hubby is a USC.

Can't say I'm particularly worried. But every time I say something like "after March 13, when Max has his green card, blah blah," I hope I'm not jinxing us...I can be rather superstitious.

I think we all feel that way. Want to get excited because it is so close but then don't want to jinx anything. I haven't even told many people because I don't know how long the process will take and I don't want everyone asking. Also this isn't easy on our son so he doesn't need everyone asking either.

What's amazing is whomever I meet think that because I married a US citizen means that I'm automatically a US citizen as well and that I could have moved here whenever I wanted (no visa needed). I laugh whenever someone says this and explain that it took me nine months to get here, and we spent all that time apart. And that's the part when their jaw drops in amazement.

As for 2011 tax information goes, it depends when your interview is. But if your husband hasn't already, he definitely should start filing his 2011 tax return. And make sure he copies it before he sends it off. If you don't have enough time to get the tax transcript (again depending on when your interview is), then you'll need the tax return as well as his W2s (and any other schedules, if applicable).

Can't do taxes yet as firms in Canada are so slow in sending all the tax stuff needed to do taxes. It is a real pain (according to him I just sign where told) having to do both US and Canadian

Yeah, doing US and Canadian taxes sucks. I'm in that situation too >_< Thankfully, I didn't make income in Canada in 2011, so it shouldn't be too hard.
