Don't be negative. Start thinking positively. When they get to your email, it's very possible for them to have finished inputting your case and are ready for document intake from you.

Yeah, I remember hating hearing they're timelines. I just ignored them, and continued calling every day.

As for being reasonable, keep in mind, you JUST got your case number like two days ago. It does take time for them to invoice bills.

All I can say is to keep signing into the payment portal every few hours.

I dropped them a quick email asking if they needed anything more from me. I figured that was a nice way of asking if they could hurry up. :lol:

No, it's printed on her checks. Just google "routing number" and look at the image results and it'll show you which number is her account number and which is the bank's routing number.

Multiple times. They just keep saying that it may take up to 10 days and will go out any day now. One lady actually told me it would be up to 6 weeks. I had to suppress both a shudder and laugh on that one.

I'm not sure what else to ask them about it. I admit I'm already getting tired of hearing 'We just received this case Monday' or some form of it. As if I'm not keenly aware of it.

I'm not being unreasonable am I? It is normal to expect it to have been invoiced by this juncture, no?

Don't forget you only got your IIN yesterday. Give these poor fellows one business day before you start cursing! :lol:

05/14/24: approved at interview, same-day oath ceremony in San Francisco 🥳 🇺🇸

Then in the nicest language and with all possible respect and honor, I'll gently explain to them that this has all taken bloody well long enough. :) Probably dropping a few queries as to how they'd feel if they were apart from their spouse for months on end. :lol:

It's not like I had a choice anyway...

But I didn't rush in the first steps of NVC cause I still thought I would need to wait for my Turkish police certificate and send it to them.

That was before fairy Saylin suggested a course of action that saved me several weeks. This episode is now known as La Grande Libération.

CR1 Visa

USCIS STAGE: 16 days No expedite request but USC residing abroad
NVC STAGE: 19 days from case # to case complete
03/27/12: interview at Paris embassy - APPROVED
04/12/12: POE San Diego

ROC
01/15/14: sent I-751 application

05/14/14: received card production notification by e-mail, approval date 05/13

Just got off the phone with the IRS... turns out our tax filing plans for 2011 are going to be infinitely more complicated than I thought. I wonder how likely it is that GUZ will ask for our 2011 taxes for a mid to late April interview?

Well, US taxes are due April 17th, so anytime after that, then technically, they're legally able to ask them of you. And if your interview is before April 17th, they may still ask you (don't know how China is), and if you don't provide what they ask for, then they'll most likely put you in AP.
