Thank Saylin! :) You have been a great help to us at NVC stage. Thanks for always answering my queries. You know what we have been RFE'd regarding the Federal tax returns, and we mailed it on Feb 1 and when my husband called later today, Feb 1, our case is complete. Do you think they will re-open our case the moment they receive our response to our RFE? I hope not.

I find it weird they requested documents from you yet then they complete your case. I hope they don't re-open your case either.

No, it's printed on her checks. Just google "routing number" and look at the image results and it'll show you which number is her account number and which is the bank's routing number.

Yes, its really weird. I hope our case is truly a case complete! But I called twice and both operators confirmed that it was completed on Feb 1st. :) Im not sure if I'd be happy or not? I hope the next email that I will receive from them is our interview schedule information.

Saylin, when is the alien number assigned? Is it on the visa? Or on the greencard?

Well, in my case, I got assigned an alien number when I got denied the first time at the border. But then I got assigned a NEW alien number when I received my visa. And that new number appeared on my green card when I received it.

So, most people get it with their visa, unless they've gotten one previously through US immigration.

Also ask when 'final review' is completed, as once the final review is completed, it's THEN eligible to be put into the scheduling queue.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

Hi All,

I have my interview on this coming Tuesday in Sydney and was just wondering if there is an all encompassing guide to preparing for the interview? The .gov site isn't bad, but it doesn't really go into details about what types of evidence etc. should be taken.

So far I have: 3 years of leases (us living together), bank statement and photos for last 6 years. Apart from that, I have all medical docs, interview letter and copies of all stuff sent to the NVC/USCIS. (as well as spare US style passport photos as the ones we sent with the DS-230 weren't US style)

Starting to get nervous now! Last hurdle, but kind of a big one.

Any help appreciated! :help:

How many spare photos do you have? You must take 2 to the interview, plus 2 more if your NVC ones were not the right size, I'd play safe and take 5 :P

I guess the final review was completed already since accdg to the 2 operators I spoke with, they were telling me that they're queing my case to US EMbassy Manila for an interview schedule. Then I'll just have to wait for the email notifying me of the interview date.

Case still hasn't left NVC. Come on guys, I know you loved it and it's a great case, but now let it go!!

Many times - case complete and final review complete timeticks occur on the same day.

Some times, alas, this is not the case.

So, knowing when/if the final review is completed, is important, as

once it's finished, the casefile is lobbed into the scheduling queue.

Queues is important, you betcha !
