Quick question for Saylin

I am able to do my 260 as it is all paid but have not done it yet.

I just sent for my long form BC on Monday so I may not get it for a week of so.

Should I go ahead and do it anyway since it is all EP and then scan and email everything later, or do you have to email it all right after doing the DS-260?

Also have to do the 260 for our kids too since they are just young, I assume they do not need a police clearance right?

Also, my petitioner did her 3 yrs back taxes, and submitted them almost 2 weeks ago, how long should we wait to get transcripts, as it does not have any record of them yet when trying to order them online. Or should we just use her T4's and stuff that she used to do the 1040's.

Wow, that is a lot to ask...Thanks in advance!!

It's not like they're going to issue you a checklist for stapling stuff together. It's just easier on the officer if it's not stapled.

And nope, you're fine. As long as each package is in their own envelope and clearly labelled, you're good to go! yes.gif

Packet 3 is for K1 visas. It's a combination of financial and visa application forms.

Packet 4 is the interview letter.

Yay! Grats kicking.gif

Thank you Saylin. I think I asked this earlier; I didn't send the 2011 tax return or its transcript, since I haven't filed my tax for 2011, yet (it's still 2 months away). I only sent 10, 09, and 08. Do you think they'll want the 2011 tax return?

My income has been pretty steady, and meet the poverty line criteria for all previous years. I just hope they won't issue any request for 2011 tax returns.

reg.ula.tion.me.ooow.2011 // tomcat.fight

to do list:
file i-130, petition for alien relative
get immigrant visa
get ssn card and green card
get employment authorization - not required
file I-751, petition to remove the conditions of residence (before 2nd year expires upon entry)
become a US citizen

Thank you Visajourney!

I'm so sorry to hear that. I can't believe they think it's not a big deal. Especially for the date of birth...I would imagine that would invalidate the cert. I would get angry with them and demand they replace it immediately.

The problem is that the consulate is just a proxy, the document was made in Turkey and signed there by a judge. I'm going back tomorrow to order a replacement, but it's going to take around 2 months again, and I won't have it in time for the interview.

So what they finally offered was to correct the mistake by hand and sign and put the consulate stamp next to the correction. I guess it's the best thing I can have right now...

Still gonna request a new one but at least I'll have something in my hands for the interview.

Wow, that is a lot to ask...Thanks in advance!!

Nope, the IV package doesn't have to be emailed immediately after completing the DS-260. So if you can, fill out the DS-260 and submit it. That way, NVC can start reviewing it.

What age are your kids?

Did the petitioner e-File the tax returns? I believe tax transcripts are only available after the return has been processed and a refund returned.

If you get everything submitted for the IV package, then I'd suggest to skip the tax transcripts and just have the petitioner submit the 1040s, W2s, and any other schedules. If you don't want to wait any longer...

yes u right

I would think that you'd have the same case number, but I'm not 100% sure.

Thank you Saylin. I think I asked this earlier; I didn't send the 2011 tax return or its transcript, since I haven't filed my tax for 2011, yet (it's still 2 months away). I only sent 10, 09, and 08. Do you think they'll want the 2011 tax return?

Nope, they won't request it until April 17th (tax deadline).

I would suggest bringing the tax transcript of 2011 to the interview though and submit it.

I got my Turkish police clearance in hand just to realize that they made a mistake on my birth year.

I can't accurately describe how infuriated and desperate I am, this is a nightmare :crying:

Wow :( I'd suggest contacting the French embassy and ask if it's a big deal. How off are you for the birth year? Just a year?

They wrote a 0 instead of a 9, so they're 9 years off... So it's obviously a typo. All the rest of the information is correct, day and month of birth, place of birth, my full name, and my parents' full names. There's no doubt about the identity of the certificate holder with all that, but I don't think a CO will accept a document with such a typo...

Do you think they would accept the correction certified with the consulate stamp?
