I believe I've found the form in question. Is it the one that just asks for the case number, visa category, names and what not? It doesn't even look like a form. Is the wife just supposed to print this thing and write the bits of information to the right of the lines?

Also, I nuked more link spam from the EP wiki page. I really hate those people.

I lost my tax returns for the previous 2 years but I have a copy of the W2 the only tax return I have is my recent one. I work for the military and met the poverty guideline, is it ok if i only send the tax return for 2011 and then W2 for 2010 and 2009 ?

No, you'd get an RFE if you sent those items in.

First off, decide if you want to just send the last year, or the last 3 years.

From there, you need to decide on which tax information you're going to send in. You have TWO options:

either

-tax transcripts*

OR

-tax returns (1040), W2s, and any other schedules if applicable

*much preferred

You can't send just two years. It's either the recent year or ALL three last years. If you send 2010, then they're going to issue a checklist for 2009 tax information.

Also, are you aware of a China case whereby the DS-3032 was sent in separately from EP OPTIN?

I am not aware of any such case.

I am SOOO confused. I am going to have my mother as my joint sponsor. She files taxes JOINTLY with my father. Her income ALONE is not enough for her to be my joint sponsor but with my father it is well over the poverty guideline since the household size is 6 (including intending immigrant). Since she files taxes JOINTLY with my father and both their incomes COMBINED are above the poverty guidelines, is okay for her to fill out the other I864, apart from the one I will fill out as well. Basically, by her filling out the I864, is her income ONLY observed or is her income combined with my father observed since they file joint taxes.

I am so confused and frustrated

I dont want to have delays on our case thats why im worried, but I think even if I only send the 2011 1040 and W2, if I met the poverty guideline (I864P) I cant find any reason for them to reject the I864.

I'm a bit confused about the order of processes at NVC.

I just called today, and an operator told me our case number (yay!). I asked her if I could opt for email communication, and she said yes, she already has our email addresses in the system. So far, so good.

I then asked her if I could submit the DS-3032 through email now, and she said no. This confirms what it says on the LingChe NVC shortcut page. But I've seen people state on their timelines that they submit their DS-3032 first, and by the time the IIN is generated, their choice of agent has already been accepted. Do I have this backwards?

In other words, am I just waiting for an email from them giving us the IIN and requesting the DS-3032 and fees, or should I be sending some things in now?

There have been some members recently who reported receiving checklist from NVC asking for the tax return transcripts, although they had sent the 1040 and W2. I know the form says you can choose to send one or the other, but they REALLY prefer tax return transcripts...

I already ordered my transcripts for the past 3 years 2 or 3 weeks ago but i have not received it until now, maybe it just takes time since I am overseas now (APO address) Well i guess i have to wait for the transcript

Good morning Saylin,

my "dear" attorney (who don't find out i was missing my joint sponsor birth certificate) told me they are asking for my police certificate but I'm sure that we put in the package. I also took copies of the whole package, in the same order as I sent. I forgot to put the birth certificate from my joint sponsor but the police certificate is in the package. My husband called yesterday afternoon and said they would put it in the review and for we call in 10 working days.

I sent the original and copies. I do not know what to do, now living in Spain and this was the certificate of my birth country, Brazil. I spend 150€ for translate this certificate, and i can't believe they lost it... i am so upset right now! This seems to have no end.

All these tax questions brings up an interesting thought... as of this moment I haven't filed my 2011 taxes. I'm about to but it hasn't happened yet. I have tax transcripts for 2007 - 2010. I wonder if I should send in 2011 in 1040+W2+W7 form or just provide the tax transcripts? Either way, I'll be providing 2011 - 2008 at interview time.
